This was because I was up all night with a friend playing Resident Evil 5.

My parents are actually really cool about video games. The only one I've heard is that, "You shouldn't play them before you go to bed; they'll overstimulate you." The thing is, though, that I'm a life-long insomniac, and nothing but medication helps me sleep. Video games weren't keeping me awake: I used to stay up late playing video games on bad nights to stop myself from getting bored, because insomnia and boredom messes with your head.

My father is awesome, he used to play unreal 2004 with me.

There was a lady I used to work with who played one of the unreal games (can't remember) which really surprised me because she was about sixty to seventy years old.

My Dad tends to point out that most of them consist of shooting things. Sad thing is, he's right. That's the bane of consoles, I guess.

That video-games give you eye cancer and cause your parents to divorce. Not even kidding on this one, I was on a game called InkLink when that was shouted, and s/he kept trying to get us to sign petitions against all video games.

Naturally, we booted them.

As for me, just about all of the above at some point or another, honestly. I have heard them all.

I learn locations rather quickly, One playthrough on a new map and i'm bound to know everything about it. I look for trends in random maps, in vain there are usually very little. Hence random.

I just hate it when people cannot understand the value in them. I try to explain that games are no less of a literary art form than film or novels, but they just shake their head in that "aw, you're so cute with your little ideas; you'll grow out of them eventually" sort of way. Ignorance in this area annoys the crap out of me.

Out of all my friends who almost never play games, i have the best eyesight and i play a few hours every day.

Ive heard the antisocial one from my mum but she only thinks that because i never talk to her, mostly because she accuses me of being antisocial whenever we have a conversation.
