Naming your PC

I don't "name" my computers in the sense that I refer to them by said names, but since all Windows boxes have to have a name for purposes of identifying them on a network, every since my first laptop 10 years ago I've been naming them after summons in Final Fantasy games. I haven't liked or played any of the FF games in quite a while, but I still have "Bahamut" and "Ifrit."

My PC is called Boomerang right now. I'm trying to convince my mum that buying me a big fancy new laptop would be a good move but my computer won't back me up by DYING. I thought it was dead this weekend. I was SO happy. But someone managed to bring it back to life. It doesn't matter if it breaks coz I can temporarily use my PS3 but GOD I HATE MY COMPUTER

This may sound a little silly, but do any of you feel a strong enough attachment to your rig to the point where you feel like it needs its own name to give it character? If so, what would you name your PC if you haven't already, I haven't.

i call mine "Not for profit" as when I bought it, the company i worked for only charged me cost price (what they get it for) and made no profit off me

My computer is named Betty, and it's like a grandma. It's always there for you when you need it, and sometimes it shits in it's pants.

My MacBook Pro used to be named "White Dragon" but then was changed to "Michelle" half a year ago. My computer is also bisexual who also had an open relationship with my friend's PC laptop named "Vanessa" who was apparently a lesbian. XD

I named the rig I built "The Master"

That way when I LAN all my friends know who's in charge!

My family has this strange tradition of naming our computers after characters from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The first computer I bought with my own money was named Michaelangelo, and the laptop I'm typing this on right now is named Shredder. One glorious day I'll build my own god-box PC, and name it the Technodrome.
