Alright, all kidding aside, yes its quite interesting to note how People are essentially the same, well okay not all of them, i mean we got whackos, nutjobs and other wierd folks everywhere, but generally its not all that much different. You only really notice it when they speak for example broken english, or obvious translator english really, and im saying english because its the most common..not like any of us could be bothered to learn 20+ Languages.

As a sidenote, yes german localisation sucks, mostly because its translated wrong and they cut stuff out, and by that i mean way too much stuff, blood and gore is one thing, but they take everything thats "mildly offensive" as well. Im actually suprised that shows like Jackass aint banned here XD

Do you even know how badly annoying those awefull blode heide commercials are? We get all that stuff here in Holland too but badly lip-sync'd. People singing on green mountain because they can clean their toilets with new stuff now! We don't even have mountains damnit. We have water, beaches and some dirt.

Escapist, GameSpot, YouTube, all made me realize two things: First, one should not be critical against whole nations, just because their leaderships are a threat for the free world; the majority of people coming from these countries are kind, opinionated and interesting to talk with. Second: there are idiots equally spread all over the world. Stupidity knows no borders.

Actually i avoid watching commercials to begin with, in fact i dont even watch TV anymore since nothing of value ever comes there. But more to the point, what i mean with bad translations isnt even bad lip-sync or such, but the proverbial "lost in translation". The worst offender in recent memory was Saints Row 2, for shit and giggles i had subtitles on, half the stuff shown as the subtitles does not match whats said actually. Its basicly butchered and horribly inaccurate. Course some stuff is pretty well done anyway. Movies and TV Shows mostly but yeah, at least with games, there's often the chance that the localised version will suck, be translated wrong or have content cut from it for no real reason.
