After a particularly lengthy round of Left4Dead, my roomates and I got into an incredibly lengthy discussion (in upwards of 4 hours) about what we would do in case of a real zombie apocalypse. We eventually decided to make a homebase in Alcatraz or one of the small islands on the Pacfic coast and get boats to make runs into the mainland for suplies. This is all after raiding stores for inital guns and food as well as assembling armored cars for transport.

Axis World Powers Hetalia.

I am a history student at college. My fellow history majors and I have long, hilarious discussions about world historical/modern events in relation to Hetalia.

Myself and some friends were once playing Mario Kart when I noticed the palaces surrounding the track were the same design as those in MArio 64. This led to the hypothesis that perhaps the Mushroom King has some kind of state architect similar to role filled by Albert Speer in Nazi Germany.

This then led to a protracted debate on the discussion of the hypothetical history of the Mushroom Kingdom and the power relations between the toad people, humans and Bowser's army.

It was a productive afternoon

I'd just like to say that you all are pikers--I have nerdier discussions than this EVERY DAY, at least three so far today, including:

A debate on the use of the terminology "sensory form" vs. "sensory data" when discussing how percepts are formed as a part of a methodology for determining whether one is, in fact, sane.

A debate on whether paying taxes constitutes sanction of the immoral.

A discussion on persistence of self independent of the continuing existence of specific physical objects or combinations thereof.

And then there's this.
I have definitally discussed the second two in length. I find the reason that most of the discussion here is not quite as ridiculously nerdy because this primarily a gaming website and gameing is almost getting mainstream. The real nerds need to hold true to our values haha. Keep the faith.

The day after my 18th birthday someone asked me if I'd bought alcohol yet. I thought they meant the software...

Pretty much every time someone asks me what I thought of the Watchmen movie. That is when the nerd in me shines.

We discussed the Pokemon ecosystem too at lunch with people watching. We also complained about children leaving home to have cock-fights while they should be going to school.

Also, we argued whether it was a perfected communist state or a highly advanced anarchy. The people never seemed to pay for their food or medical bills, but there seemed to be no government or any career class.

One day while we were supposed to be researching stuff in History, my friends and I were talking about future engineering plans and physic theories. Very awesome.

Some friends and I had a long discussion about whether pirates would take out a rival group of ninjas in a fight or vice versa. It quickly devolved into arguments about the specifics of the combat scenario and such. I think it started around 9 and ended about midnight. Ninjas would win.

discussing Theorycraft with another WoW play (i dont play it myself anymore). Theorycraft is basically explaining the mathmatics behind WoW so that you can maximize your DPS as much as possible. Then he explained to me how its been mathematically proven that it doesnt matter when you pop bloodlust of a simple tank and spank boss. the result is always the same.
Surely after 20% so the warriors can exe spam with all the rage being built?

Anyhow, yeah pretty much I discuss raid startergies with anyone that happens to be around, I've been discussing with my cat for the last 2 hours the best way to invade Stormwind and Ironforge.

I don't think she approves of my plan.

Me and my brother had an extensive and increasingly loud debate about the possibility, likely causes, visible symptoms, threat level and ways to defend against undead transformers. He won. They cannot be infected by human zombies and so will not be covered in the rotting flesh of their victims.

Me and a friend of mine were recently discussing elemental bending (Avatar), how it worked and what you could do with it.
We even got as far as thermodynamics... And how bending water into ice would probably burn everything close.
We agreed that water would be the most awesome and useful element to bend.
It's time for me to start growing up.
you are literally the coolest person i know.

i'm saying putting star wars in the same category as LOTR is a despicable insult to LOTR.
