There have been many a nerdy conversation that me and my friends have had. Some examples:

Are Mudkip's really the cutest pokemon?
Will a religion be sparked of by the ceiling cat pictures?
Is there an inappropriate situation to say 'this is sparta' and 'over 9000'?
i can name 2 very appropriate situations to scream those two things
1.if your visiting sparta
2.tax rebates
yes mudkip is
and the cat religion will be sparked soon enough

I think the nerdiest thing I ever discussed was why Krillin and the other humans in Dragonball Z became so weak compared to everyone else. XD

Why kratos would win in a fight with Prince of Persia.

I also spent 20 minutes explaining the story and gameplay twists of Bioshock to my missus.

How about overheard? I recently overheard a couple of people quoting Red vs. Blue. It got really out of hand when they were trying to discuss who the best character was.

My friend and I frequently get into discussions about the various plot holes in the Legacy of Kain series. Seriously, we derailed an entire physics class a few years ago.

Nerdiest thing... probably trying to talk my friends into listening to my Shatner album. It's actually pretty good, in a tongue in cheek kind of way.

Look up "I can't get behind that" william shatner henry rollins on youtube if you haven't already heard it. it's pretty old now though.

i talk about time travel, and the repercussions of it, and why it is only possible to go forward in time and not backwards (probably). a lot.

I was working in a meat counter at a supermarket and I and my co-worker were discussing what would be best to do if orcs would storm the building, fleeing was obviously not an option because that just for sissy's.

After some time we agreed that the best thing to was to try and get everyone into the storage area, which was at the back end of the building along with the meat counter, and close it off. Then we would make a fortress out of the meat counter, because it was the best position and there we had lots of knifes, and make our last stand Helm's Deep style.

One time at a restaurant I overheard some people at the next table quoting Homestar Runner stuff, and then the waitress walked over and joined in. I was like, "What a bunch of nerds" and then continued reading my Game Informer magazine while I ate...

That is awesome.

In a similar fashion, one time at this one store I worked at, I thought about what would happen if a horde of zombies attacked the building. I figured we would be pretty well screwed - the front of the store was pretty much just all glass, so they could probably smash their way in pretty easily.

And there weren't many options about where to barricade and hide, either - the receiving and break-room area in the back had a locking door on one end, but swinging doors on the other. It'd be ok if we could somehow reinforce the swinging doors, I guess, and there'd be water and food in the breakroom.

The office upstairs would be pretty good, too, I guess - one locking door in front of an easily defended staircase. But, not a lot of room for survivors and maybe a little food in the manager's mini-fridge.

.... yeah, that was a really boring job.

Me and my sister once discussed when you should pronounce the word deadra "dee-dra" or "day-dra", and when it makes more sense to use either form.

HAH i got a classic. needs a bit of set up though. about ohhhh .... 10 years or so ago i got a job at a local factory, this factory had expanded a department and hired about 40 people in the 20-30 year old range while the rest of the factory was full of older people, mostly 40-65 or so. ANYHOW a friend of mine i worked with got me started playing Ever Quest, and we in turn got another couple to join us and they got some and before you know it there was about 20 of us playing Ever Quest that all worked together at this factory.

now ill leave it too you to picture 20 young 'new guys' setting around on break talking about raids, and quests, and class issues, and tactics and so on while we are getting the stink eye from all the 'old farts' around us with not a friggen CLUE what we were talking about. this went on for YEARS and to my supprise even some of the old farts started taking an interest. not so much in playing EQ but in computers in general. we DID manage to get one of the old fucks to start an account though. he was horrible at it but he was having a blast and as far as i know he and his wife (both in their 70s now) still play EQ.

i quoted Mallrats when i told my friend:

"It's impossible, Lois could never have Superman's baby. Do you think her fallopian tubes could handle the sperm? I guarantee you he blows a load like a shotgun right through her back. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. But, that would kill him."

I'm a big fan of the good old Vs. arguments, and I pretty much came to the conclusion that Boba Fett was the all around champion, when my co-worker tried to tell me that Lion-o could beat him. Well, let me tell you, that discussion got heated toute suite.

And just for prosperity, in a fight:

1. Chewy > Worf
2. Wolverine > Spider-man
3. Genghis Khan > Alexander The Great
