New $100 dollar bill design.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke unveiled a brand new $100 bill this morning. It?s awesomely high tech and cool, the better to foil counterfeiters. The front features a big blue 3D stripe with images that change from bells to the number 100 when tilted, as well as a color-changing inkwell. How wild is that? Rappers and pop culture bloggers will be happy to know it?s still all about Benjamin, though.

The new bill won?t go into circulation until February 11, 2011, and existing $100s will continue to circulate, at least for a while, after that.

I don't really care what the design is, as long as it stops the counterfeiters. So I guess I like it, if it works.

Australian money is pretty cool, its laminated and has a clear 'window' bit

I personally dislike American bills due to the fact that they are all the same colour and such. I enjoy my own Canadian currency with Monopoly-esque colours. I also dislike one dollar bills, loonies are much nicer

More on topic, I do like the new design more. The addition of colour is nice. It is less like all the rest, hoping the rest don't follow the exact same redesign.

I'm a fan of coin money. I used to turn in $100 in paper money for $100 in dollar coins. I would often go to pubs and taverns and pay my bill in gold pieces.

I always thought that Australian money looked cool. I keep 10$ Australian in my wallet for good luck. But these new 100$ bills look epic. Try and counterfeit this North Korea!

I hate the new bill designs... makes the money look toy like. But you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

And nothing is as bad as the Won, the true monopoly money currency.

The bills aren't even the same size!

It is easier if money is different sizes, then blind people can count it by comparing it's length with a a touch scale.

canadian 100 dollar bills are even more elaborate, and yet no freaking store will ever take them (or 50's) because of how bad the counterfeiting is.

still makes sense for the states to have separate colors for bills though, it always seemed stupid to me to just have green.
