More European, for sure!Mimsofthedawg said:one of my girlfriends was canadian... ya'll have the dumbest names for the most random shit. I say that respectfully, of course.muckinscavitch said:I personally dislike American bills due to the fact that they are all the same colour and such. I enjoy my own Canadian currency with Monopoly-esque colours. I also dislike one dollar bills, loonies are much nicer
More on topic, I do like the new design more. The addition of colour is nice. It is less like all the rest, hoping the rest don't follow the exact same redesign.
It's like Canada has an identity crisis. Should they act more American or more European?
Because contrary to popular belief, America is a secular country.Mimsofthedawg said:hahahhahhaha, it has it in an even more noticeable way!!!Venatio said:Does it still have "In God we trust" on the back? I hope not, good a time as any to change it.
Edit: Crap, it does....

btw, why should in god we trust be taken away? At the very least, I think it's a good tradition.

And each BISON DOLLAR will be worth FIVE British pounds... for that is the exchange rate that the Bank of England will set once M. Bison kidnaps their Queen.

No matter what I (or you) believe happened, or what I (or you) believe those two men actually said, there is still a separation of church and state in America.Mimsofthedawg said:oh, ok... you keep believing your revisionist history while I go and read George Washington's and Thomas Jefferson's actual statements on church and state.fenrizz said:Because contrary to popular belief, America is a secular country.Mimsofthedawg said:hahahhahhaha, it has it in an even more noticeable way!!!Venatio said:Does it still have "In God we trust" on the back? There is a separation between church and state, and therefore it is inappropriate.
Because it spits in the face of the constitution with the whole "separation of church and state". So yes In god we Trust should be removed.Mimsofthedawg said:hahahhahhaha, it has it in an even more noticeable way!!!Venatio said:Does it still have "In God we trust" on the back? And... That's a good thing?Mimsofthedawg said:It's not a matter of belief. It's a matter of fact. When you look at the FACT that EVERY STATE had a state religions up until 1855, you realize that church and state was not only intermingled, but was reliant on eachother, it becomes clear that the Constitution meant that the United States as a whole could not have an official religion, but religion could be brought into the fray.
When you look at the FACT that the Constitution, declaration of Independence, countless bills throughout American history, etc. have scripture clearly marked in them, it is evident that the United States government was based off of Christianity.
When you look at the FACT that every square inch of the US Capital building (from the ceilings, to the walls, to even the floors) is literally covered in Bible verses requesting wisdom for decisions, it becomes apparent that this is a Christian nation.
When you look at the FACT that for the majority of America's existence, Congress has opened up with a word of prayer to the Christian God, it's apparent they've always been Bible loving.
Christianity is not only riddled throughout American History, it is the BASIS of American government. How can you say that there's seperation of Church and state when the Church has been the state for most of America's history?
