I thought even Arkham City was a daring stretch for them to attempt to pull off after the first game. If they were really crazy enough to try it a third time; (and I think if they do; they should separate it from the Arkham series so the public would take it seriously) I think Prometheus might be a good idea for a big bad, though he hasn't yet found major status in Batman's villain gallery. This would be a chance for him to make his mark.

He's essentially Batman flipped on his head, and has been referenced in the background of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
Yeah it's weird thing. I mean I get that they want the "Arkham" thing at least in the name so people understand its a continuation, but it'll be hard for them to keep coming up with reasons to involve Arkham in other settings.

I admit, these Batman games are awesome, but after the death of the Joker, what could they do now? There are more speculation and rumours dotted around the net as well.

Your thoughts?
Batman dies and goes to heaven, only to find out ironically that his parents are in Hell. Batman decends into the the 7 layers of hell to try to rescue his parents, only to be find out (after beating Satan) that it wasn't a mistake. His parents where pederasts and deserve to be there, and had only been using his emotions as a means to escape hell.

Well given what happened and was hinted at in City, it's likely.

Scarecrow will return. You just don't leave things like that there, and NOT make a sequel. They're planning something.

EDIT: A game set in Gotham would be cool.

Or a giant theme park.

A giant theme park stinks of Joker though, him being a deranged clown after all.

Im guessing it will be Gotham, it's all they can do now.

Hopefully the Harley Quinn DLC will clear things up. Hell Joker could of faked his death, we all know what he is like.

If they did Gotham, a level when you have to sneak in and explore Wayne Manor woud be really cool.

Batman Arkham City: Brotherhood. To be followed by Batman Arkham City: Revelations.
Great, give them ideas. Especially after Batman Inc [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Incorporated].

I must agree, a story driven Spiderman game with a tweaked fighting engine from Rocksteady would be amazing.

I must be the only person who kind of hated Batman's fighting engine. I never knew who he locked into. I would be facing someone in front of me, and Batman flew 20 feet in the air to kick someone BEHIND the guy I was facing.

I wonder if they could turn their attention to other superheros? Maybe on the Marvel side? A Spiderman game by Rocksteady would be pretty damn sweet.
While a Rocksteady Spiderman game would be cool it's probably never gonna happen seeing as Activision own the rights to Spiderman games. It would be far more likely for Rocksteady to take on another DC hero as Warner Bros(Rocksteady's parent company)own DC comics

For once I want someone with the combat prowess of Batman to have a go. How cool would that fight be?

Anyway, I'm glad they'll use a different villain this time around. City was weird. It had Hugo Strange marketed to be the major villain then Joker came around anyway. I just found it a little discerning.
Hugo Strange could've been awesome, but he was overshadowed by Joker, Penguin and Ra's Al Ghul :(

And don't forget, there was also a hidden Scarecrow section in the boat and Croc's empty cell too. So there is definitely plenty of foreshadowing of another sequel. That one domain that said "grand delusion" definitely sounds like a Scarecrow thing. My guess is he will be the primary villain for the next one. Considering the best parts of Asylum are the Scarecrow sections, it makes sense to me.

Couldn't have just said "After the ending" huh? had to spoil it without warning for all of us who haven't got around to playing it yet.

OT: I'm more excited for a good superman game, although another Arkham game to add to my list would be nice.
Please, all of you use spoilers. Quoting someone who spoiled it, then complaining that he may have spoiled it just makes the spoiler more glaringly obvious. Edit your posts please.

Spoiler warning, dude. I already had the ending spoiled for me but many people probably haven't.
Yeah. Me.

What the hell, OP? Does it take that much brainpower to put "SPOILERS" in the title, or put some warnings in your post or something? Honestly.
I got the game spoiled for me too. That was in a discussion about Arkham Asylum and someone blurted out the ending of Arkham City before it was released on PC so the ending was pretty much ruined for me. I kept hoping that it was someone trolling those who hadn't played it yet.

OT: There are a few loose ends to get from Arkham City, maybe not enough for a new game though, but I wont cry if they release some DLC chapters to build more story from where they left things.

Batman Vs. Task Force X. Seeing a golden opportunity, "The Wall" orders the Suicide Squad into Arkham City to take care of Gotham's criminal element, or so Batman believes. The real target is Deathstroke, who is hiding out in Arkham City for some reason. Maybe Rose is dying and he need the Lazarus pit to save her. Maybe the Ghost kid is looking to get revenge or something. Either wat, Batman must fight the against the Squad best known members, Captain Boomerang, Blockbuster, Black Orchid, Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Rick Flag, Jr to save Arkham and so on.

It's been out 7 months, and you're looking at a thread about a SEQUEL to a game you haven't played yet. Don't expect people to tiptoe around spoilers.

After happened at the end of Arkham City, I definitely see issues trying to create something larger. I mean, Batman just doesn't seem like the full-fledged Batman now that is and also got their asses handed to them.

...there. That should help the spoiler-sensitives.

Seriously though. I remember ol' Neckbeard Strange making a speech about his 'next steps' for Tyger, including a super-prison like Arkham to be constructed in Metropolis. Maybe it's time for Batman to hit the road and pay a visit to Superman's neighbourhood.

I do like the idea of expanding into the Batman Beyond arc, though.

Give me Arkham Planet or give me death!!!

And c'mon, you have to have the Joker.

You can't spell Mark Hamill without Arkham ;)
Probably shouldn't burst your bubble like this....buuuuuuuuuut.....

Sadly, Mr. Hamill has emphatically stated that Arkham City is the last time he'll ever voice The Joker.
He also is willing to make an exception if the Killing Joke is ever made into a DC animated movie.

Still, I think Brent Spiner could use his somewhat hollow sounding voice to add an outerworldly quality to the Joker.

Please...please let it be that cancelled steampunk batman game. As for a leading villain...Wow...in the arkham storyline, we're kinda running out of major league villains, huh?
Croc's dead (despite a secret in arkham city suggesting he's somewhere in the sewers although he never personally appears to my knowledge), he ate scarecrow (presumably, anyway), hugo strange is dead, rahs al ghul (sp?) is dead, the goddamned joker...For a non lethal hero, bats is racking up quite the body count.

The details of the latest (spoilerific) DLC suggest harley quinn might be next up, but I'm not sure whether she can really hold up a main antagonist role.

What about the riddler? Thing is, it'd be hard for the riddler to pose a large scale threat without either straying from his MO or making the entire game a string of puzzles.

So yeah...not sure where to go with main atagonists here, but just...make it steampunk. Then, presumably, we don't have to worry about the new villain? C'mon...you get a slightly easier to write story, we get that badass steambat, win win, rocksteady/WB.
