I've known about Thin Lizzy for ages, but I recently saw a video of Gary Moore live, I went and found everything by him and Thin Lizzy I could find because that is some amazing guitar work.

The amount of people whose favourite band are The Killers surprises me. Their music is OK, but it's such generic indie music.

I finally forced myself to listen to Vampire Weekend last week, expecting it to be terrible, and haven't stopped since.
Not a band I recently discovered, but they are my favorite band by far.

I bought Billy Talent III recently so I've been listening to a lot of their stuff. I've also been cruising Playlist.com for a while (I highly recommend it). A couple months ago I had a Drowning Pool phase, but now I'm listening to Papa Roach, Skindred, Rise Against, and Brokencyde in equal parts.
