Yea but I mean it is one of the biggest games in Japan. From a business stand point it makes sense to give it to them first.

I think it is because they haven't even started working on the localization yet. Which usually takes a lot of time. That is also why the european version will come up even later than the american one.

I'm more concerned that the black guy just pass the "Mister T" mentality to the "Chris Tucker" mentality....Or maybe it's just the few bits I saw...

He did and you know it. Square has yet to produce a black character that did not neatly fall into a stereotype of some sort.

Me too. But that can pretty much be said about every japanese developer really. Black characters for japanese developers are either Mister T/Mike Tyson, Chris Tucker or Blade.

Hmm this seems also too similar to FF7 we have a train at the start ,a black guy with guys just like barret and a giant sword wielding skinny guy/gal... so far it still has one of the things that annoyed me from FF12 which was everyone seem to have guns and spaceships and your party where using spears and swords

a black guy with duel SMGs, 2 RPGs straped to his back (in that one scene) and a little baby chocobo nesting in his afro........... i have no info about his charater story and i like his attitude already.

No offence but I just don't think it makes it as good as when it isn't (If what i typed made any sense at all)

Thats what alot of people dont understand.

Games made in Japan are made in japanese. So one of the first things they do is release the game in Japan. While that is happen they begin tranlating the games into other languages.

Well, lighting's sword is pretty bad ass, and it seems that everyone else is using guns in the game. Lightning's sword might be what gives her the ability to shift gravity, thus making it a high-tech sword. Who knows.

Y-you can't be serious when asking if the main character is a girl or boy...y-you just can't be...Long pink hair, female voice...breasts..come are people seriously that dense? Sorry if I sound like an asshole but COME ON!! if you can't tell you really got issues.

Have you seen every other Japanese game ever made. Hair, voice, and breasts aside, that face is one of the most commonly used ~male~ faces in anime. In one cutscene they really focus on the breasts, less to give you their typical disgusting pointless fanservice, and more to say, yep, there they are.

I have played plenty of JRPG's and that retarded stereotype isn't true and it leads me to question how many games these people have played. It's just one massive facepalm after the next every time I see someone question a characters gender when it's obvious. That and a lot of people really don't understand the reason for such art direction in the first place...being as it's a cultural thing, and I REALLY get tired of people railing and stereotyping other cultures...

It's pretty much a high tech gunblade. In some of the trailers you notice that her sword can transform into a gun. So she got the best of both worlds I guess.

This game looks like a revamped version of FFVII.

Well, considering how much money they've poured into this, they have to appease the FF7 fanboys/girls.

But to me, it reminds me somehow of FFU.

You literally turned it on yourself when you started jabbing at my with the whole "it's not true because I say so" insults. I have played many games and the whole stereotype is blown out of proportion by people all the time. When Square Enix starts making games with a decent plot then maybe I will take them seriously again.

As for the demo....ME WANTZ NAO!!! The game looks flat out beautiful, and those videos most likely don't do the visuals full justice.

Of course the game LOOKS good. When you have a ton of money to blow on making one game you can make any cinematic cut scene look epic.

However pretty graphics doesn't convince me of the games quality in the slightest. What does is the combat, and am I the only one who's worried that most of that video shows the cut scenes rather than the combat?

Are you sure you were watching the same vids as me? I saw PLENTY of combat in those vids. I watched 3 vids that covered the demo from start to finish and there were a good amount of battles. I will agree with you in that the combat kinda worries me. I don't mind it, looks like it's working out, and this IS a demo so there is plenty of room for improvement. I feel that is is a bit of a step back as *shock* I LIKED FF12's combat.

All in all we just have to wait and see. At least we have SOMETHING to go buy when assessing this game. I mean 3 or 4 years of trailers and now we finally get to see it, thank god. Only more game play videos and some more insight on what the plot is and I will be happy

And what we have to go by looks absolutely stupid.

No matter how much they polish the graphics it won't change the fact that the setting is dumb, the character design is dumb, and the plot most likely follows the same pattern.
