Where did you hear her real name was Serah might I ask. Oh and LOL at the pic, but then again I am not surprised when Square said that Lightning was supposed to pretty much be the female version of Cloud.

I'm gonna have to call out the fanboyism here as well. This looks like the equivalent of a michael bay movie. Maybe worse 'cause it pretty much caters to the Japanese/fan market. Even the j-pop battle music annoys the shit outta me. The most I'll play is the demo off XBL for nostalgia's sake.

I don't get how you could find this nostalgic. It's almost nothing like the original FF games.

Meeeeeh, can't really be excited for the game.

I used to be a fan of FF games but, in my point of view, lately they've been failing with storyline and character development. In other words the storyline money bank is being pillaged by graphics to make it look good and characters have been getting on my nerves acting like idiots and just being overall unlikable. I can't blame them for always placing graphics in high esteem, but I would place storyline a wee bit above graphics, since today's graphics are incredibly detailed to a point it's kind of overkill.

Now don't flame me yet you trigger happy fanboys and fangirls, I was talking overall of the series. Maybe this one is different... and maybe the heroes from the past FF games are just acting like 15 year old metrosexual kids who hits themselves in the head with a hammer every day in an elaborate conspiracy to keep only the hardcore fans of the series with them to know how many would keep playing the damn game even if barely a few things change per game and a storyline as interesting as reading a Garfield comic. Oh wait, its a woman now, at least its just a 15 year old kid who hits herself in the head with a hammer every day. It's a winning formula for them, it will never change.

I wouldn't put much hopes in this game, unless you're still a hardcore FF fan. Anyway its going to have big sales and they will report success and what not. Bah. Go and buy it. Nothing I say will change anything or matter at all. I will just laugh on the corner about it all.

A girl. Pretty sure her codename is lightning. Looks like a remade general Celes to me. which isn't a bad thing at all. Wait wtf...and afro...with a chicken?!? baby chocobo maybe...Doesn't matter best turn based combat i've EVER seen. I just got a little tingly

That does make sense, since they (Square) were quite open about the fact that the concept for her was "You know how much ass Cloud kicks? Lets make a female Cloud, so that she too can kick ass." Seriously, that was the concept, just with less cursing and more formal PR bullcrap.

Nostalgic of FF7 (or 8), I suppose. Though honestly, I'd rather they had just remade it (retarded spin-offs notwithstanding). I got pretty pumped when I saw the opening cinematic redone. My indifference to Square was solidified when it just turned out to be a showcase for graphics.

I am really trying not to get too excited about this game, because when I did that for FF XII I got nothing but a pair of blue balls (quite impressive, actually, seeing as I am a girl). I probably won't be buying it right away anyway, seeing as how the PS3 will need to go through at least three price cuts for me to actually be able to afford it.
The trailer does look pretty good though.

I dont know which side of the arguement about the whole cloud thing you are on, cos you start from the "those who claim" side and switch to "and it does make sense" side.
So I will just say this:
Thats hardly proof of her and cloud looking the same... and they dont. What you are actually seeing is an illusion, its because people tend to focus on the eyes which are actually the same and are facing the same direction. If you focus on the face you will see the change... either that or you can just hate on a game you havent played yet because its a popular franchise, oh and if you dont agree dont forget to call me a fan-boy or whatever it is you do nowadays (that makes me seem old). Personally I want FFX VERSUS XIII, it looks so cool!
