New Futurama! Sucks!

I thought both eps were good, things about it have changed for obvious reasons (like Fry trying to get Leela to go out with him constantly), but that's what happens in shows, they progress.

I saw rebirth..or the first 10 minutes and detested it have yet to see episode too..they made all these useless jokes within the first few minutes It really threw my interest off.

Okay, how was leela and zap out of character? Shes delirious, she won't fuck him. She thinks they're the last people on earth, shes still hesitant. A talking death star (representing the hypocrisy of aggressive censorship) threatens the actual destruction of earth, and shes more or less "get it over with."

Rebirth was brilliant.

The second episode? Leela bones Zapp... with zero hesitation... in front of Fry...

It only took two episodes for them to hit the low point of the entire fucking series. Grats.

I hated that part. But the rest of it was fantastic. I don't see how it sucks at all.

I rewatched the first season afterwards, and said to myself: "This series has come a looooong way. I mean I don't even find the first episodes that funny, any more."

I kind of agree with our opinionated OP. Rebirth was brilliant and if you weren't aware that Futurama had been off the air for the better part of a decade, you'd never guess it from that episode. It was Futurama unchanged, unfettered by time. It was not the best episode of the series but a great episode nontheless.

The came the second episode. Right from the start it was a reduction in quality - most of the gags were not Futurama gags. Don't get me wrong, it was a funny episode and I won't deny I laughed at it a couple of times, but it just wasn't /right/. Putting Leela and Zap in that situation at the end of the episode was, in my opinion, the worst thing they've ever done with the series. This episode was Futurama's "Principal and the Pauper" for sure.

Still, my hopes are very high for this season. If we see more episodes like Rebirth, this could even end up being one of the best seasons.

I would have to agree that while the first episode was freaking brilliant, the second really, really, REALLY sucked. But that doesn't mean it all sucks: we'll see if following episodes follow in the same path. Hopefully being on Comedy Central won't make them think they can fill the show with sex this time around...

Side question here, which season would you say is best, because I have an iTunes gift card and I'm going on a long trip soon, so I'd like to get it.

Any of them are great. If you haven't seen the beginning then start with season 1.

That's the one I ended up getting, because it was cheapest.

Do the episodes need to be watched in order? Just curious if there's any continuity.

Yeah, there is some continuity so watch them in order. (That goes for the whole series)

Well. One, its the first two episodes of the new season. Two, its better than most other crap that you have as alternatives.
My biggest gripe though is just watching it on Comedy Central instead of Adult Swim.

I actually kind of liked how they explained everything in the first episode, and
for me the second episodes was simple "meh"

Chamber of Understanding is awesome though.
