The technology has not yet been able to put something that awesome in video game form.
Say again?
His awesomeness level didn't match tex because he was hit, but that mega fonze brought him back up. Cutscenes don't count anyway.
Well, since you insist on being picky...
All I say there was basic hack and slash combat, there wasn't that awesome flare as in the opening.

Saw that earlier. It's nice and makes me wonder who Halsey was talking to at the end.

What I'm excited for in Reach is actually basically tied into that question. I'm most interested in the story. I read the book way back when it first came out so I remember it being good but I'm a little fuzzy on the details. I want to play Reach to "live" through that story and see what changes they make to it.
I think she was talking to cortana, if you remember the begining of Halo 3 she mentioned how she picked master chief as her spartan, and when she talks about noble six she mention only one other spartan has his ratings, I think she's refering to master chief there too.

OT: Doesn't it seem like she's hinting at how each of them will die in the campain, "Distance is a luxary he may not be able to afford". "He needs PATIENCE and bravery" etc.

Yes, killing people with a laser-briefcase, riding enemies like skateboards, playing bullet-ballet with ten men at once, and knocking peope into the air and keeping them afloat with a cushion of burning lead is so very drab, isn't it? You can barely tell it apart from button-mashing.

/sarcasm

Seriously, though, when you stop trying for speed and explore your combat repertoire, DMC plays more like an interactive action cartoon than a proper action game. I can't youtube a good example at the moment, but I'm sure you can find one if you look hard enough.

I never said that was button mashing, I just said it was the regular hack and slash. Truthfully it just seems to lack the inventive freedom you need for something to be truly awesome.

But we are now talking about Devil May Cry in a Halo thread, I think we may be a bit off the topic.

Maybe a little, but so long as you don't go all flame war I don't mind.

I was using the off-topicness to end the very subdued argument because I had nothing more to say, its a very simple copout.
