The inspirational story...
Of one kid that got lucky on youtube...
And, uh.
Other things...

I guess it was originally a 15 minute long documentary titled "Hope you get lucky", but they probably needed to pad it. Anybody know how long it's going to be? Two hours?

I'd say one of the big reasons for the hate is that so much cash is going into something with zero artistic merit, when there's 1000s of better scripts landing on desks in Hollywood every year.

I guess in a way we should hope this is an almighty success so they can risk investing some money in a quality movie with a plot, as we all know they don't rake in the cash like by the number trash led by a pretty star.

I just can't see any way there can be any value in this being made however, except as a way to leech a few more dollars from preteen girls. Does any Justin Beiber fan NOT know his entire history and backstory already? I also assume they know what he looks and sounds like, and I can't see the movie offering anything else.

Self-indulgent garbage, but it'll draw enough of a crowd to help inflate the ego. It's damaging to a generation of children, but what the hell, they really didn't have a chance anyway.

Not enraged, just disappointed.

EDIT: Also, amusing that this is probably his way of 'giving back'. It's not like he's the only one to do this, but really...the money that goes into this could feed thousands of people, save lives, help people out of debt. Damn it, people...

I feel like this world is coming to an end. How much is a sniper rifle? Just asking.
Enough to make the time in jail for ending his life worth it.

OT: Ok, impressive story, but there are plenty of stories like this, why does his get a movie? This is why the movie industry is rapidly losing my hope.

Nice fake guys, made some people almost believe it.
...It is a joke right?

Urgh. This is why I hate the music industry, a bunch of money grabbing bastards trying to milk as much money as they can. Within a year or two Beiber will be a memory and they'll have found another teen star to replace him.
I could go on for ages about how corrupt and horrid the music industry has become, but I'm tired and can't be asked.

But seriously, I can't possibly imagine what the content of this movie will be.

I'm curious as to who exactly said it would "never happen".
Same here.

It was more along the lines of "Oh God, Why is this happening".

I'm surprised it took this long.

Don't get me wrong people, I love a good classic story of someone making something out of themselves, but this is just sad. Terrible rinse-and-repeat music, a completely uninteresting "Oh wow, he made something out of nothing" story, and the fact that most-if not all- of his fame comes from basically all the haters in the world.

Nobody said it would "never happen". Unless the trailer wanted to prefix that statement, with "Some random YouTube trolls with nothing better to do said..."

Honestly, if you want to find a way to buy your fifth yacht guys, at least do it in a way that doesn't make us all suffer as a result.
If you're not watching it, you're not suffering. Just don't watch it. No need to post a thread about it complete with a video and give the guy even more free promotion. I doubt many people reading this were likely to go and see his film anyway, and the few that were probably don't care what you think about him.
Im just pointing out that this movie is a total sellout and anybody with a brain knows that. If theres one thing ive learned from teh internetz its that people A. Hate all those bands out there that are targeted to 6 year old girls and B. Love to make fun of all those bands out there that are targeted to 6 year old girls. Its a win/win.
It certainly is. And do you know who wins the most? Justin Bieber.

Every time you post his name here, that's another match that will come up in a Google search, so when the record company proudly brags that he's "the kid with over 100 million hits on Google!" give yourself a pat on the back, because you contributed to that. Every time you talk about him or link a video of his, you're spreading his fame further. Sure, 99% of the people who are reading this know who he is, and now the 1% of people who didn't know, now do know. Thanks to YOU. And if you don't believe me, remember that I work in the music industry and I first found out about Justin Bieber through an Escapist hate-thread.
I've got to agree with BonsaiK here. I first heard about Bieber on Youtube video comments[footnote]it's unfortunate you can't disable that garbage[/footnote] on old school rap videos or the like, which had nothing to do with Bieber whatsoever, yet there were Bieber-bashing comments. After seeing those everywhere, those made me wonder and listen to some Bieber songs and realize the couple pop hits on the radio were actually sung by a young boy, instead of what's-her-name: Alright, then.

All this hate, because of envy or other juvenile reasons, towards Bieber from people is amusing and rather comical. Do you make such a fuss of the games or movies you don't like at all? Nope.

One of the juvenile reasons to hate a thing is because something/someone is very popular. The funniest thing here would be that, now when 'hating Bieber' could be considered by some to be 'popular', it could turn around and some people would start to state they like Bieber, so they would be the cool kids again. I suppose that won't work as well in pop music as it would on other things. I've seen that kind of things happening though.

All I think of that kid is that his music is well produced and catchy, he has an extraordinary voice, the looks and his songs have hit right on the pop hit spot.
