Gargoyles.

I just love that word :p
At first, the suggestion of "gargoyles" made me jump with girlish glee, if only because Disney no longer makes such ridiculously awesome animated TV series, but naw...half the awesomeness of vampires is that they're universal. You could walk down a dark alley anywhere and get attacked by one...no one's really in danger of being attacked by gargoyles unless, yennow...you have a fondness for haunting medieval castles at night.
I see your point.
But this DW-clip comes to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U3ampthDdk :D

The Hydra!!!!!!! I mean seriosley it gets stronger everytime you cut off one of it's head.
i was going to say this, but it's only a singular creature. i thought he meant a whole race of creatures. there's only one hydra, i thought. maybe not, please tell me if i'm wrong.
No your right I did mean a whole race of creatures, if theres only one when it dies the series ends lol

My vote (finally) is for the Imoogi [http://www.mythicalcreaturesguide.com/page/Imoogi], because they are awesome like dragons, but not awesome in that they're, well....not. I can just hear emo!Imoogi now, "Oh how I wish to be a dragon, but sadsad I cannot...maybe after a thousand years..."

I wish to give the Imoogi hugs and good luck wishes for becoming dragons eventually. <3

I think I'm gonna have to go with the Fey. Not the cutesy, happy fairies that Disney made famous, I'm talking about the old school Fey. The ones who kidnap children who go into between places, incredibly powerful creatures who play with mortal lives. The original fairy stories were there to frighten children into not straying off the path, and they were a lot more fun than the modern versions.

I pick the spawns of chaos (40k fan high five)

Just the forms of only a insane mind can comprehend, striding about gibbering, while ripping you limb from limb.

that reminds me, changelings! they steal babies, eat them, transform into the baby, live in it's place, murder the family, and do it again!

but, since schrodinger took a fucking bullet the size of a rock to the goddamned face, twilight becomes null, void, and completely destroyed. *rhyming win five*

Actually, you know, for anyone who's actually read the third book, Eclipse, the mythology behind the Twilight "werewolves" is pretty damned interesting.

Yennow, how they're not actually werewolves...how they're the ancestors of native American warriors who could "spirit fly", and the chief whose spirit, having lost its body, merged with the body of a wolf to become a sort of hybrid-creature whose human emotions were to great to be solely contained within that animal body. That's some pretty cool shit.
