Both of those songs were really good. Couldn't get enough of the After the Burial song. Very similar to Born of Osisis (maybe that's the Sumerian records curse)

Cheers mate :)

If you can check out more songs by both bands, they're both really good :). You should also check out Oh, Sleeper:

Animals as Leaders (self titled first album) = insanely awesome prog/metal/djent- stuff. They're supporting a BTBAM show near me soon too :D

Make sure to listen to that whole song, then Tempting Time.

Tool, TesseracT, Periphery, The Human Abstract are good proggy bands.

Also, Muse: Origin of Symmetry or Muse: Absolution are both really good albums. Much better than their more recent stuff IMO...
I already love the Human Abstract, Periphery, and Animals as Leaders. Great bands.
TesseracT sounds great! I'll definitely keep listening to them.

Cheers mate :)

Ha! I got this album a few days ago. It's fantastic! The rawness of his screams aren't what I usually go for, but it mixes with the guitars so darn well. Lovin' this album :)

It might not exactly match your criteria, but I'm going to plug them anyway. Awesome post-metal with a fantastic vocalist.

Devin Townsend Project - Deconstruction
Seeing as this is my absolute favourite album of the year by possibly my all time favourite artist, this thread is now awesome.

Anyway, more on topic, if you're looking for stuff similar to Devy or in the same vain, try any of these bands. Not really the vocal harmony stuff like you're talking about, but nonetheless good. It's hard finding metal that has harmony but *shrugs* Still good:
And not sure if you know, but here's Misery Signals' new song:

And if you're looking for other stuff that's new that isn't metal... do you like Electronica at all? I'm typically not one for shit like dubstep or trance but I really like this kinda stuff:

Edge of Sanity - Crimson
Edge of Sanity - Crimson II

Both concept albums, both albums that must be listened to in one sitting, the first album is just one long track.
The two most incredible metal albums after The Great Misdirect.
I'm listening to Crimson right now. At first, I had to blink a few times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. 40 mins!?!? And it's only 1 song? Wow. I'm impressed. I like it so far, will definitely keep listening.

Thanks man :)
No worries man.

Yeah 1 40 min song is outrageous, the second album was split up. I think I prefer the second, but that may be because I listened to it first.

Okay, since you've mentioned The Ocean: try Precambrian. In my Opinion, it's stronger than Heliocentric/Anthropocentric, although the first disc has a strong focus on "heavyness".

Other suggestions: Scar Symmetry, Holographic Universe. It's somehow about quantum physics. Or Ayreon's 01011001, but that might be a little soft.
