Thank you for the warning. I changed my email and password about 10 to 15 minutes ago. Hope I wasn't to late. I'm fairly certain I'm just done signing up for websites. Since nobody can stop hackers it seems and they can just do as they please. Nothing is safe..
I am glad you changed your password, I do hope nothing happens to you.

As for nothing is safe from hackers.. thats very true. and what they are doing will most likely get some regulations on the internet. but that wont be a bad thing for us because it would be on the companies storing that information to be required to have a minimum amount of security and much better than what is current. That is a good thing for us consumers.

But really dont be afraid to sign up for websites and buy things online, just be proactive in protecting yourself. dont use the same password, make the password a good one that has at the least 7 characters and a mix of numbers, letters, and symbols. As for CC information use a prepaid card and if thats not possible then after the transaction remove the card from your online account.

Brink deserves it, what a overhyped POS.
Well you see; no...
If you don't like a resteraunt's food you don't trash the place, and if you don't like a game you don't hack the developers.
At least not unless you're a complete douché.

So I think by now we can rule out the possibility of any real grudge/ethics towards Bethesda.

Now why doesn't Anonymous attack them?

They are just black hats at this point.
Personally, I'd find that hilarious.

Furthermore, since I'm clever enough not to use the same password across multiple accounts, I probably have nothing to worry about. Probably.

I'd love to meet these people in person and see them hack their way out of my fists.

If this delays Skyrim in anyway, then I shall start the hunt for them myself.
Where's my non-camping-mallet hammer?

I might sound stupid but they say it's for the "lulz" but I honestly see nothing see nothing "Lulzy" about it, okay shutting down online for a day or two can be a little "lulzy" but this just seems like they just want to show off for the sake of it.

Thats all ture but its after the fact now and changing the password is step 1 in protecting yourself. i never said change username or email, just your password. If they have it it will be the old one and they will need to hack again just to get into your account.

If they got in and got absolutly nothing... well its better to be safe than sorry.

I'm not entirely sure why they're doing this tbh. Maybe one of them had an unfortunate run in with a Splash Damage dev (since Bethesda are actually only the publishers of Brink) and they're going to unfunny childish lengths to enact revenge.

I'll be honest.

I think these people are worse than Al Qaeda. At least the terrorists honestly think they're in the right. These people are just retards who can't succeed at anything in life except making other people's lives a little worse.
I do actually agree. Terrorist do at least live in the belief that they are making the world a better place. These people do not.

I don't understand why. What are they trying to prove? Do they think that they're some sort of 'anarchistic vigilante' style hero? There's no need for all of this, and has an impact on a lot of innocent people.
no, they're just anarchists, full stop. they do it cause they can, not to prove a point, or gain something, just cause. though they have the side effect of proving how incompetent the government it when it comes to the Internets.
This exact thing happened in the 1990's. The result was that the Government imposed new laws concerning the internet, then hacking stopped being the 'cool' thing to do for whatever reason.

So...history repeats itself. Governments will pass more laws, hacking will stop being cool, then in another ten years or so, the whole thing will start all over again.

Edit: Clarification: I'm talking about the US and UK governments. It's possible that even more countries will get in on it now, since Italy, Japan, Belgium, Greece, etc etc have all experienced issues with this.

Ok they just pissed me off, nobody attacks Bethesda no matter how mediocre Brink turned out to be. (My opinion don't flame me)

but..I like Bethesda :(

I'm glad I don't have a password with them, but really? I don't even see any legitimate reason to do this. If this slows down any of my games, I'm going to be pissed.

this is just dumb

This is probably because Bethesda has allegedly "betrayed" the hardcore PC community and now LuLzSec wants to do some damage.

My thoughts on LuLzSec...

Waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!! - LuLzSec
Perhaps they were big morrowind fan's and didn't enjoy that bethsda is leaveing out spears for Skyrim?
well to be fair spears are awesome

OT: I hope anonymous stops them as they are invading peoples privacy and making poeple less anonymous.

This really is getting old now. What they are doing isn't good for anybody. I can only see it as a deperate cry for attenion. It hurts everybody involved, I know it's been mentioned many times before, but even their own members will be suffering as many are likely gamers too. So it's not even all that lulzy for the people who are participating.

Where exactly are the lulz in this? Lulz are when you make someone douche bag have to pay for 20 extra large pizzas, or you post the e-mails of some dickhole who says you can't do shit to him as he tries to take our rights away and you laugh at him from afar.

Lulz aren't found in making good, honest gamers, trying to enjoy their games, unable to play those games, and fear for their bank accounts, their personal security and other things. That's just skull fucking someone's dead mother at the wake then finishing all over the eldest man's face...tacky, untasteful and just wrong on so many levels

Makes hackers look worse and worse with every dickwad who keeps trying to claim to be doing it 'for the lulz' when in reality their the lowest form of scum. And yes, I would say this to their faces, or in a message over the internet in an anonymous form to meet their desires
