What about you guys?

Please explain your choices.
On my first playthrough I created a total techie, max Int with the Small Frame and Four Eyes traits and with Repair, Science and Medicine as his tag skills. I played him as NCR through and through, and he'd already helped out the Outpost, Camp McCarran and a few wandering patrols before even being given 'the choice'.

My second playthrough (which I'm on now) I'm playing a smooth talking wheeler-dealer type, points in Charisma and Luck with Speech, Barter, and Lockpick as tag skills. I'm playing him as a double-dealing sleazebag, and so it should come as no surprise that I'm helping out all factions a little bit whilst working with Yes Man.

For my next playthrough I'm probably going to create a meat-headed bruiser who throws his lot in with the Legion, but I haven't started that one yet.

At no point have I even considered working for Mr House.

EDIT - Yay for stereotypes!

Hell No.
Alright YesMan. Let's do it
Sexiest Slavers? Sexier than what? Oh, when you side with the NCR you can get the Brotherhood to side with them after you do both "In The Dark" and "Eyesight to the Blind/Mind to your own".

Oh I know but they give you negative rep for it. Plus how do I know they won't shoot them in the back when i'm not looking?

I went with the NCR backed up by the Boomers and Brotherhood of Steel.

When I got into the Legion camp I wanted the option to free the slaves if I'm honest and kill their captors but game mechanics didn't quite let me do that succesfully.

Caesar may have good intentions but not the right method to me in the game.

I resent the accusation that Caesar's Legion is "violent". To their enemies, maybe. Bitter Springs ringing any bells?

I support the Legion, mostly because the Legion isn't about to start another Enclave like the NCR Army/NCR Ranger split will, and because House isn't planning on making anyone but himself and Vegas prosper.

I hate how all the Legion quests are pretty broken, though. :/
YEAH AVE TRUE TO CAESAR!!!

I choose the Legion...twas a simple story i was looking for the man who killed me...(not doing the quests a long the way just the one to find Benny) and Caesar had him. Instant like! I saw Burned Man stuff all over the area and thought Graham would kill him...then I with Legate would lead a Antony and Octavian campaign against Graham and then kill Legate and Octavian would rule NEW VEGAS!!! but then the story got limited...so I aided Caesar, heard what he had to say, talked to citizens and saw how corrupt NCR was. So I choose Caesar and I am his Octavian!

The Legion is unquestionably violent and cruel. They maim and booby-trap enemies, actively practice slavery and they also betray their allies murder or enslave most of the tribes.
And taking the ears off of corpses is a perfectly acceptable act? What about Mean Sonofabitch in Westside, who was tortured just because he was a super mutant? What about Norton and his mercs, who're attacking Jacobstown because NCR ordered them to?

Plus, if you talk to Antony in the Fort, he'll mention that he used to be a member of the Hangdogs, who were one of two tribes (the other being the Twisted Hairs) to stand against the Legion. Both his account and the Great Khan ending mention that, while they're pretty much forced to accept the Legion culture, they still get to keep their old culture around so it serves the Legion. (Unlike NCR, which would much rather wipe out the Khans like they did to the Vipers and Jackals.)

And on the point of Bitter Springs, that may have been a legitimate accident and genuine mis-communication. Camp Searchlight, on the other hand, was a deliberate act.
Everyone who mentions Bitter Springs (Manny and Boone in Novac, the Great Khans, Sgt. Bitter-Root and Cpl. Sterling at McCarran) says that it was terrible AND that it was planned. NCR had cavalry (All Roads) and snipers (1st Recon) prepared to exterminate the camp.
So suddenly the great khans are the victims? They are nothing more than raiders, just like they were in fallout 1. They attacked shady sands (NCR capitol) and they have been known for rape, and cheating (the brass knuckles and metal armor in a hand to hand fight). The wasteland would be better off without them. They are barbarians, and NOTHING more. That goes to the vipers and the jackals as well, petty street gangs that done nothing but cause grief.

NCR is a culture that allows everyone to join their ranks. Ghouls, humans, and super mutants are known members of NCR ranks. You even find them in NCR territory in fallout 2. There is also no sexism there. Sure you have corruption (which is inescapable) but you have to admit that a clean slate is a HELL of a lot better than another dark ages. The legion doesn't like technology very much, would disregard medical science, would create a cult to Caesar. I don't have to tell you that on the escapist, religion is hated here. Nor would i have to tell you the idea of a second dark age followed by a heavily religious following of ONE man who calls himself the "son of mars" (roman religion) would be down right vilified here.

You think they are non violent to themselves? Think again, the vault wiki clearly states that they practice cannibalism, kill anyone who isn't a "soldier" (to enforce eugenics of a master race of soldiers), among a host of other war crimes.

The legion taking over would be the worst thing to happen to humanity since the great plague.
Ummm they never disregarded science and medicine.

I went for Yes Man the first time, found him to be very lovable.
Second time I went for House, and was pretty satisfied.
I plan on doing an NCR run when ALL of the DLC comes out.
I don't think I could ever join caeser.

Perhaps it's just me, but I went with this thought pattern

The moment I heard roman legionaries - I was screw that.

NCR - yeah sure... till I found out how corrupt they were.

Mr. House - No check and balance... plus he wanted me to wipe out the brotherhood. While they can be snobs, they do have good intentions and I was made mad at Mr. House for not letting them join my allies like the boomers...

So I killed him. Not going to let him stay alive so I put him out of his misery. I told that tribe to go to Montana and start a empire, I have the boomers and the flying fortress and the kings... yeah I think I'm pretty set for Vegas. I also gave no mercy to the legion. Ripped that smirk off Ceaser's best fighter with 30 charges of C4. His body never fell back down, neither did his other twenty troops.

It wasn't the best decision and now that I think of it, I could have kept Mr. House alive as an advisor.. but overall, I felt it was best I could do for vega and it's people. With the help of the brotherhood, kings, Apoc and boomers, I could probably get Vegas to be ship shape.

edit - accidentally called Mr.house; Dr. House - Hugh Laurie wasn't in the game, though would have been epic.

Yes they do. Their culture admires strength and power. Painkillers, medicine, or any sort of weakness is immediately dealt with by death. science is plain laughed at for being synonymous with weaklings who rely on it rather than brute force. basically they follow the frat boy mentality "if it aint got muscles its weak".
did you even do Legion Quests?

I'm not sure which faction I'd support (leaning towards NCR quite a bit), but I know I hate the Legion, due to my principle of hating any faction that could write for The Spearhead and resemble a right-wing militia.

Really? Because the vault talks about their entire culture and structure even before new vegas was even a thought. Its biased to the older fallouts, but not to factions.
go to any Legion/NCR quest page. how much is for NCR and How much is for Legion? try I Put A Spell on You. Theres a major bug for Legion faction that prevents the quest from completing, the "community" seems more occupied with ncr part then keeping it even.

In such a big and unknown world, the only smart investment is yourself. Any army I don't control is an army that can be used against me. The NCR is controlling, the Legion is too unpredictable and violent, and Mr. House may be smart, but he's an ineffective leader.

The NCR can hardly hold their own territory, let alone protect their citizens.

Concerning the Legion. Allow me to quote the great Commander Shepard; "I haven't been shot in the head nearly enough times for that to seem like a good idea."

Mr. House: If I had to pick one faction to side with other than myself it would be Mr. House, he has a plan and the resources to make it real, but so long as I'm beneath him, I am vulnerable to him.
