Why bother putting out a 45 min video of gameplay for a game like this? It's a fucking FPS. You have a gun; you shoot stuff. That's all there is to it.

I'm looking forward to this, New Order was a good game and I could hardly think of a better time for this game to come out because I never had a greater urge to get a pair of shotguns and shoot the limbs off of nazis. Especially seeing how the game seems to draw some parallels to the neofascist uprising we're seeing now. It's a bit of a shame that the german version of the game is gonna edit out all Nazi icoography and I'll have to either wait for a patch or import a foreign version.

I know what living space meant for the rest of the world. I'm viewing all this according to how it would benefit Germans (in this made up universe) and a main character initially profiteering. The bad guys in new Wolfenstein are all over the top. Every encounter feels like it's trying to be a Tarantino scene, and it's usually boring because of how scripted it is compared to the rest of the game. It's less tense than gameplay, where anything can happen.
As I said, it is part of the grind house/exploitation vibe that the game goes for. For some of us (like me) that works, for some it don't. Saying it should be an entirely different genre of story is like asking for more guns in Life is Strange.
Some one should make a game equivalent of "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas", presenting the wilful refusal of the Germans to see what was going on under their noses, and paying a severe price for doing so.

So apparently Hitler himself is in this...almost guaranteed to be the end boss or at least final kill, seeing as how they?re rewriting history ?n all.

I still find it lame that they wrote the last game as a sequel to the old and now with the oddly named Wolfenstein II, they're completely ignoring the old games. I'm curious... How many times has Hitler died already?
Some say he never died, that his bunker had a makeshift runway with a plane he flew to Denmark, then switched to another plane and flew to Argentina.

Why do people think it's edgy to dislike Nazis?

OT: Game looks great, already pre-ordered and I got South Park FBW, Shadow of War and Destiny 2 (PC) to keep me occupied until then.

Because anytime this sort of advertising shows up, you have a bunch of Nazis whining about how a videogame's marketing is going to make people violent.

It's goddamned hilarious.

I suppose the "New Order" signifies a complete reboot of the series, and it would seem Hitler/Nazis can never die enough in Western pop culture. Everything about them personifies the perfect villains. Never mind Japan and Russia, whose military leadership allowed and more or less encouraged their soldiers to rape, murder and pillage the civilians of their enemies. Stalin had a lot of logical points to make, but seemed to lack any kind of compassion for anyone. Patton wanted to go after Russia thinking we ultimately defeated the wrong enemy, stating, "What we are doing is to utterly destroy the only semi-modern state in Europe so that Russia can swallow the whole".

I remember being surprised to read once that roughly 37% of American POWs died under the IJA, compared to less than 1% under Germany. Of course there were differing circumstances, but nevertheless not what one would expect from a group that's typically synonymous with pure evil.

Doesn't make it any less edgy/cringe tbh.

I just installed The New Order on my new rig to see how much better it plays. Hopefully will have a chance to play tonight. I remember it crashing my old one trying to load all those megatextures after about the 4th or 5th level. It?s nice to know this sequel is at least running on a much better engine. Shame about it still using pre rendered cutscenes though. So distracting when you?re slashing your way to a checkpoint, arms and chest full of blood spackle and then reach a cutscene where he looks like he just took a shower and grabbed a fresh shirt off the clothesline.
