New zombie romance film backed by "Twilight" studio

"Warm Bodies" is an upcoming film adaptation of the debut novel of Isaac Marion currently being described as Twilight with zombies. The plot description is as follows:

"After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world."

As for production and style, the project is being backed by Summit Entertainment, who found success with their previous adaptations of Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" novels. The director of the film, Jonathan Levine (known for modern dramas and coming-of-age films), has stated that extensive voice-over will be used to express the thoughts of the creatures to make up for the inability to talk, with further work being put into making the zombies appear both better looking and more human than they traditionally have been.

Shooting began in September of last year, with the film expected to be released on the tenth of August this year. Already photos have emerged from the production showing the protagonist in full makeup (the zombie R, as portrayed by Nicholas Hoult):

Honestly how can this work? Atleast with the vampires or werewolves you had something to work with, he's gonna eat her brains the second they have their honeymoon. How can a pale creature that eat's people's brains be sexy to a teenage girl, can someone please explain it to me? D:

It is almost universally accepted that Zombies don't have any higher brain functions. That is kind of the whole point of them. How can he become "involved" with a girl? Their entire vocabulary involves one word: "brains" (or Brians if the zombie is dyslexic.) The point of zombies is that they aren't individuals, just a mass of faceless destruction. You can't characterise a zombie

I do not see how this could work in any way without changing the idea of what a zombie is so fundamentally that it makes Twilight's sparkly Vampires look menacing and true-to-the-original. At least they kept the blood addiction.

okay, I've done some research, and at the very least it doesn't SOUND as bad as twilight (i guess). Apparently, zombies are still zombies, they eat people, and the zombie apocalypse has still occurred. from the book at least, zombies eat brains to get high off the memories (or something), the zombie in the book eats some guys brain, and gets high of his love for his girlfriend. Zombie saves girl from rest of zombies, but she books it back to town cause she's not a necrophiliac, but the zombie follows her like a stalker. After that i don't know.

Didn't they already make My Boyfriend's Back? The Twilight phenomena is starting to die, and not a moment too soon. All the other attempts to jump on the Twitard bandwagon have been pretty disastrous, if not being shot on the super-cheap, they would have done severe damage to their studios.

And while one can certainly debate it when it comes to vampires... this is necrophilia through and through.
