Yeah, I play my games in the living room.
Even the computer is in the living room!

I would play games in my room, but my room is...pretty small. I doubt that I'd have enough room.

For most of my life I have played games in my living room as it was the only room in the house with a tv, now I have moved to uni I play in my room from my bed.

Although pokémon on the toilet was always good fun.

Well my PS3 was in the living room (where the big TV is). Though it broke so I'm playing PC games in my room.

The actual reason the PS3 was in the living room was so the whole family could use it to watch TV/DVDs/Blu-Rays/online catch up services. Before that the consoles have always been in my room.

Also I love the people who play their consoles outside. Neat.

I'm pretty much the electronic dumping ground in the house so 2 computers Xbox 360 or 2, PS2, PS1, N64, SNES, and the Xbox vanilla disappeared, 4 TV's an amp or two the list goes on and on all down in the basement bed room so I'm 7% and 19% of this servery...

Not sure if that's good or not, and seeing 1/2 of the list on "paper" i feel a little claustrophobic all these screens surrounding me, closing in!!

Considering the home entertainment culture in North America, this isn't even remotely suprising. I just hope people are aware that this doesn't necessarilly apply to the rest of the world.

Not too much surprising there if you stop to think about it. Wiis end up in the largest room in the house for room to flail about. (If Kinect and Move catch on, they'll bring their consoles with them.) 360s end up in bedrooms on secondary TVs because most households don't want to gather around and watch someone else play a video game. PS3s end up in the living room on the big TV more than 360s because a lot of them were sold for Blu-ray capabilities.

I was thinking this too.

And I figured most gaming took place in the living room, as that's where entertainment setups tend to be. Personally though, I have two separate console setups (one of them was to keep the main TV free, the other is the main TV after we went HD), not to mention my PC.

Off topic: Coming from a architecture enthusiast, I absolutely adore that home design in the splash picture
A bit cramped for my tastes, but I could see the appeal were it, say, an upper-mid range apartment. The basement's awesome, though.

Speaking of basements, you'd think more than 7% would be in those.

So, 1% of people put their console and TV outside... What the hell is wrong with people?
Technically a handheld (Psp/DS/Gameboy) can be considered a console, but since this study was about Xbox/PS3/Wii either people really are nuts and lugging their tv's outside, or people answering the survey didn't think to mention handhelds.

I'm assuming these numbers round up, no matter of small the percentage. i have a hardtime believing that out of every onehundreds owners of a console, one will admit to playing in the kitchen, 1 the PORCH and 1 the spare bedroom.

I play where my HD screen is and that just happens to be the living room, though I might consider moving them when I buy a TV for my own room.

I read that too and was like "someone took 'go play outside' the wrong way... or the right way, depending on your outlook."

I game on my PC in the living room, because that's the only room in the house with air-con, and Australia's summers get stupidly hot.
BTW, that's a kinda weird-looking house layout there.

To shed some light on the "other room" option: I have a dedicated room for gaming. I can imagine others having a similar room, or one for entertainment in general- though I don't know where one would draw the line between that and "den". I guess the room I'm talking about is technically a den, but my family refers to it as the "video game room" since that is its primary (and close to only) purpose.
