Watchmen.

Okay, the slow-mo's a little irritating, but it's still a superb film.

Inception is definitely "woah" ^^

Have you seen Memento? It's another one of Christopher Nolan's movies, it's really interesting, totally recommended :D

Dark City, Directors Cut Edition. Awesomeness. Do watch!
Were you the guy that quoted me in the other thread. Either way, +1!

Oh, and if you liked Inception I recommend Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both a great film and evidence that Jim Carrey isn't typecast.

Phone Booth. I don't know ANYONE who has heard of this brilliant movie. It's one of my favourites. Seriously, watch it.

The first line from wikipedia: "Phone Booth is a 2002 American psychological thriller about a man who is held hostage in a telephone booth by a sniper."

I have seen that one and can second the recommendation. Althought the film falls short towards the end.

Completely unrelated, but when did that come out? That looks like a movie I'd want to see, judging from your review, but I never heard about it.

Anyways, I recommend you go and bet The Shawshank Redemption. Easily one of my top ten favourite movies of all time.

2009. Said it in the review right at the beginning. :p

But yeah, I would recommend seeing it. Quite a good movie.

Don't believe Moviebob on this one!

Basically, I'm having film withdrawal. I'm bored out of my SKULL and need a couple of good movies to watch, so please Escapist, recommend away><.

HOWEVER: No kids films, no animated films... aaaaand...well, films that are actually out right now xD.

Note: Just watched Inception. Woooaaaaaahhhhh. Just woah.

SOYUH, Please help><.
I feel your boredom pain, bro. How about Sherlock Holmes? It's not a bad film at all, in my opinion.

What's wrong with kids films or animated films?
Are you biased?
Do you think such media is beneath you?
You make me sick!

But as for good Live action films a preferred genre might help.

But here you have it in no particular order moretimethansense's top fivesix seven list of films you must see if you havn't already

Gran Torino
District 9
Fight Club
Scarface
Clerks
A Clockwork Orange
Jet Li - Unleashed (Also called Danny the Dog)

And cause you said you want films cause you're bored some "fun" films that are great for passing the time

Zombieland
Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street
From Dusk Till Dawn
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Again Fight Club
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Mystery Men
Four Lions
Evil Dead 2 & 3 (fist ones good but not as "fun")

Or you could watch The Happening just to laugh at how bad it is I guess.

I'd say Shoot 'Em Up, if you feel like a hilariously violent and spectacular movie. It's really just a lot of gunfights, and it's great!

I see a couple of people have gone for Fight Club, and I've got to say it's a great movie, but the endings pretty bad compared to the otherwise excellent film. Also, Machete is a great choice - adapted from a fake trailer from Grindhouse, and is directed by Rodriguez. Also, I watched the Great Escape again today and forgot how great a film it is, even if it was a bit long, and pays suitable homage to the people involved (in most cases). If you're not British, you might have not seen it, I'm not sure how popular it is outside the UK, but even if you have seen it, it's always a good one to get out again.

Edit: And as the guy (/girl) above me said, Shoot 'em Up is both thrilling and funny, I wholeheartedly agree with him.

Pan's Labyrinth. Best movie I have ever seen, and as a film major... well, I suppose that holds little to no clout. :p

But it's a good movie, damn it!

Runner Up: There Will Be Blood. Watch Daniel Day Lewis become a ravening monster!
