My username is my nickname. It just get's abbreviated to tBB. "Oi tBB." cause I hated shoes as a kid (except for the flashing light ones. Those were awesome.).

One best friend calls me "Chick" , the other calls me "Fatso" and when we tried thinking up a nickname for me, we came up with "Whitey" (cause my last name's Whitworth, but "Whitty" sounds like some pokémon-junk name.)
My da calls me "Snorkette" (????) and for a short while I was called "Bill". :D

I used to have the nicks "creep" or "creepovich" because of my white skin and unhealthy habits(don't ask) and also because the guys who came up with lacked enough fantasy to come up with something better.
Some guys now just content themselves with shouting out my name slowly once they see me

Odd fact: The women on my mother's side of the family are "issued" male nicknames, I have no idea why.

As such, I have an "Aunt Ray" and "Aunt Ralph"

To continue this odd tradition, I've been given the nickname Murphy. *shrug*

My gf refers to me by names I won't post here, tho she does occasionally refer to me as "Nem" or "Nemmy", due to my penchant for using the nickname Nemu (or some variation) online/via email and such. Other RL friends of mine who I game with will refer to me as Nemu out of habit off-line, too. >>;;;

I've rarely been called anything other than Dolan, which is my surname, although I did get a pretty awesome nick name for few months when I was 18: Zeus. I was captain of the rugby team and in our annual dinner the vice captain decided to compare me to Zeus, that stuck around till I left school which was pretty cool!

He was a funny lad, I accidentally broke his nose with my fist once. Seriously. It was an accident.

At highschool I earned the name 'steamtrain' as I was big, fast and damn near unstoppable on the playing field.

At Uni, I somehow picked up the name 'Nate-dawg'.

At my old job the workshop guys would refer to me as 'the doctor'

"Tramp" is one from a non-friend of mine (You know, the long-term friends that you don't like anymore, but still befriend because of the history)

Ny name's Alasdair, so I get "Ali, Al, Ali G (CREATIVE, HUR HUR), Alistab, All-star, Aly-stare" and suchlike

Problem is, because I'm used to some people calling me "Al", I respond to anything like "Ow!" "Oh!" "Ah!" and anything else monosyllabic

Billy two willy.

The last thing I remember doing was getting smashed and waking up in my dorm room with a chem lab TA and a floor RA, Both pretty sexy in my opinion. It was pretty epic win for that year.

Mine was always JD, Juzzie, JB etc seeing as my name is Justin Davis and people where I live suffer from a severe lack of creativity. I didn't mind them in the slightest.

Over the years I've picked up a few from random things. When I worked in the Sawmill, my nickname at work was Safety, because the person i worked with the most was Danger. At Camp i got the name Griz, because i had a lot of grey shirts at a bilingual camp (grey x french = Gris). In Rugby i was Ghost, because my jersey had no number. and a random assortment of names like Chris, or Shawn, which are nowhere near my name. Just for fun.

Edit: Forgot the names based of my last name.

My last name is Boux, pronounced in English as Books. It's Belgian, btw.

Nicknames can be a terrible, and wonderful thing. But if you get stuck with a bad one (like most) then it can make your social life a living hell.

I've been tagged with ALOT of nicknames through the years. Ranging from my first, middle, and last name. But I'm looking for nicknames that you've EARNED through some action, or misfortune, or even something appearence related (most common type).

To get the ball rolling I'll share a story of how I got my terrible nickname that followed me for years... (sigh) when I was in third grade I was attacked by a german shepard, and it injured me pretty badly, when I told some of my classmates they started calling me "Squeak".
That nickname has followed me for years, but eventually I asked people to call me K9.

So I ask you, my fellow escapists to share the nicknames that you have been tagged with, and how you got them.

*This thread is searchbar approve*
why were they calling you squeak?

OT: i've been lumbered with a nickname that is just my first name with an: EBOY on the end, it's really annoying, i mentoined this to people that call me that but they persist, i can see only one way to stop them... *loads shotgun*

My username is probably my most common nickname, although it seems everyone I know calls me something different.

I'm Jack, I'm from Hertfordshire, and after a very unusual game of black jack using a very unusual deck of cards (that makes for a very long and unfunny story) I've became known as Jack Of Herts (or six jack, depending on who you talk to)
