My best pal nicknamed me 'Eldo' and somehow it stuck. I didn't get it at first, so he explained to me that it was because of one golden t-shirt I used to wear all the time; we had just watched some movie involving El Dorado, the city of gold, and somehow he came up with Eldo. All my pals at home still call me that, and honestly I don't mind. :)

Nicknames can be a terrible, and wonderful thing. But if you get stuck with a bad one (like most) then it can make your social life a living hell.

I've been tagged with ALOT of nicknames through the years. Ranging from my first, middle, and last name. But I'm looking for nicknames that you've EARNED through some action, or misfortune, or even something appearence related (most common type).

To get the ball rolling I'll share a story of how I got my terrible nickname that followed me for years... (sigh) when I was in third grade I was attacked by a german shepard, and it injured me pretty badly, when I told some of my classmates they started calling me "Squeak".
That nickname has followed me for years, but eventually I asked people to call me K9.

So I ask you, my fellow escapists to share the nicknames that you have been tagged with, and how you got them.

*This thread is searchbar approve*
why were they calling you squeak?

OT: i've been lumbered with a nickname that is just my first name with an: EBOY on the end, it's really annoying, i mentoined this to people that call me that but they persist, i can see only one way to stop them... *loads shotgun*
Because people started saying I was a dog's "squeak toy".

(loads shotgun)

I only give people nicknames when I'm being condescending towards them.

Think you caught all that, Sparky?

I myself don't have any nicknames among people I like, because my name is like three letters.
It's almost impossible to give me a nickname that doesn't add more to it.
How about 2 letters? F U

I've been called Edward once, but other than that I don't really have any current nicknames, but I don't really socialize with people that often.

Although I did have a few nicknames before

Willy Wonka
Theodore
Bulldog (For five seconds, I didn't really care for it)

That's about all I can think of.

I've had a few.
Caz - short for Caren.
Haribo - because no matter where we went I always had Haribo with me.
Frodo - people at school found out a got a Frodo figurine for Christmas and it stuck.
TJ, Alex - inside joke.
There's a load of others but I can't be bothered to list them all.

Not-God

A friend and I made a fake cult for religion class and even have a gathering of tongue-in-cheek worshippers who spread our "teachings".

I'm our "Satan" figure, the incarnation of Knowledge, strategy and chaos. My friend is God, the deity of Balls-out combat.

Seriously, that's all he wanted.

Me and my ex boyfriend/roommate have nicknames that go with each other especially with our actions.

He is Ninja
and I am Pirate.

He believes himself to be a Ninja and is at the very least a black belt and former teacher of Tae Kwon Do(if I even spelled it right)
and me....well,
I have believed myself to be a pirate since i was a small child and have tendancies to act and talk like one.

In high school i went from Harry to Barry (after someones gay uncle) to Baz (because people couldn't be bothered to say it all).

I'm at uni now though, and i've seen the good side of nicknames.
My trademark bandana has earned me the title of 'Pirate'.

I've had a few nicknames, but nothing that's ever stuck. The first three were given to me by my sensei from my old martial arts dojo.

Tight Gi Guy - Rather self explanatory. When I first got my jiujitsu gi (uniform), I had a tendency of tying it really tight because otherwise the belt would fall off.

Boner - Not what you think. I had cut a lot of weight for a martial arts competition (going from 6'1" and 175lbs to 6'1 and 149lbs), resulting in my bony frame becoming an annoyance against people I sparred with in grappling.

The Guy Who Doesn't Tap - This one was given to me for my tendancy to test my pain threshold and see how much pain I could take before tapping out from submissions. This usually resulted in my face turning purple from being choked.

The Human Dictionary - In grade 7 and 8, I had a dictionary in my school desk that I would look at whenever I heard a word I didn't know. I would also flaunt my vocabulary by using complicated words in my schoolwork. I was eventually asked if I read the dictionary every night, and given the aforementioned nickname.

I don't have many nicknames, but there is one guy who was in my Electronics class back in freshman year and currently is in my AP European History class who often calls me "Thad Jarvis". Apparently to him I resemble the character from the Guitar Hero episode of South Park with the same name, thus he often refers to me by that name.
