When your entire argument is essentially "they didn't measure their dicks like a bunch of insecure teenagers" you have failed right out of the gate. So far the only disappointment is having to pay for online (though they also haven't mentioned pricing as well as saying that member's will get discounts on digital purchases and have a free NES/SNES title per month) though considering how no one pouts when Sony and MS do it I'm not too pissed about it. Thoughts on the games

Zelda: Just wondering whether to cave and drop the scratch on a Switch and the game or just by the Wii U version to save money.

Xenoblade: That was surprising as I thought Xenoblade X was going to be the series from now on. Still, the franchise has been great so far so I'm not complaining

Mario: The hat has gained sentience!

Splatoon: Dual wielding, motherfuckers!

Mario Kart 8: Inklings!

FE Warriors: This was the one that made me roll my eyes. Mark my words, this will be the most boring FE crossover ever. There's just nothing FE can give the Warriors formula to improve it unlike what Hyrule Warriors did. Fanservice and nothing more.

SMT: Good times. Now to wait for the West to whine when it's not just another edgelord Nocturne

Arms: Admittedly this does sound like good fun

Octopath Traveler: It's by the guys who did Bravely Default, enough said.

No More Heroes: Well, since Nintendo just surprised everyone by bringing back waggle it's only fitting Travis return

who cares about power? Do people still consider that a selling point? Buy a PC done, nothing will ever be as powerful as a PC.
you buy consoles for the exclusives and Nintendo will never be able to compete with Sony so going the portable route is actually a good move, dominate in what you're good at.

I agree that there are not many games in the presentation but look at the press release there's a bunch of games announced for it.

it has a good launch line up
Worth noting that so far the launch lineup has 2 games confirmed. Zelda and 1,2 Switch. That's it. Everything else is post-launch unless something changes.
i have the feeling that they will push really hard to have skyrim and fifa 17 for launch day. thoses games are already out, so it might not be that hard to release it winthin 3 months...

Not at all, I've given up on PS4/XB1 because of it. Nintendo just made it easy for me, unless they launch alot of good couch games.

While I agree that the Price is a little high, and I'm not a fan of Subscription-based Online Models, I think Zelda, Splatoon, Mario and 1-2-Switch! are enough to keep it from being a disappointment in the first year. Heck, Zelda alone guarantees 1 Million Sales in 24 Hours. Also, this thing will be a beast in Japan with all those Square Enix JRPG's.

So no, I don't think the Switch is Dead On Arrival. It could burn out in a year or two (although I'm really hoping not), but it should have a great first year.

I don't think it's DOA but it's certainly made it very easy for people to decide whether they want one or not.

A subscription based online plan kills any chance I'd buy the console, which were low as it was. I have enjoyed my catalog of Nintendo portables from the Gameboy Color to the 3DS but I play them less and less compared to my PC these days. I highly doubt we'll see another DS series product to avoid competing directly with their portable tablet console and I don't really like tablets that much as it is... I may very well be headed full on into the PC cult at this point.

Actually its really not. I was going to buy a PS4 until I found out Paid Online. Killed my first non-Nintendo console purchase in its crib. Maybe sometime I'll pick up a PS2 on the cheap so I can say I've played on Nintendo's competition, I did always enjoy playing that console at friends houses back in the day.

No, it's not ok either.
What about Youtube and every TV channel ever? Most things are going subscription based. Atleast with gaming consoles, it tends to be worth it. I bet Nintendo Switch will have far improved online. Who knows, maybe we can actually start communicating with other people.

What about Steam? It's still a way better deal than any of the consoles online services now. I don't BET, I make sure the price is worth it before paying; and frankly neither PS+ or XB Live are.

Nintendo have already confirmed that voice chat will indeed be supported.

http://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/

it mentions there that gamers will get a free NES or SNES game download each month but only for a month. you don't get to keep it forever like xbox gold and psn games which is pretty stupid.

HOWEVER!!! one thing that's actually really fucking awesome is that it also mentions while talking about NES and SNES games, it says that some of those old games will actually have all new added online multiplayer modes now which is fucking sick. now we can jump into random multiplayer games of stuff like the original mario kart if we so choose! :D

And Steam is full of porn games, trash games, and half the games dont work on whatever OS you use. Plus PC gaming is expensive if you want a good computer. PC gaming's pros are always negated by the expensive con.

I dont like paying more money, but there are worse things than Nintendo having paid online. I do honestly believe Nintendo will make the money worth it. I also bet it will be less than 50$ a year.

Oh no, steam has more games, what a shitty service. Steam is as good, if not better than PSN/XBL and it's free. You don't need a expensive PC to use it either.

People need to stop defending MS/Sony for charging money to play online for literally no reason.

Game's individual services not being hold hostage behind an universal paywall is a larger pro than the pseudo-expense con. If you buy games to play once and never return to them, sure, PCs are too expensive for that. But just upgrading some PC part allows you to replay your existing games with much better performance.

You want that on consoles? You have to buy a whole new console and, for anything older than this gen, the full-priced HD remastered game. That, added with hardware prices usually going down with the pass of time, make that "con" negligible.

And finally, you buy a console, you have no option but to stick with the manufacturer's online store. In PCs, Steam is the dominant store; fortunately it's not the only one selling games online, and you can buy games from niche genres that neither Steam or the consoles handle (and lots of times, you don't even need expensive hardware for those).

While the release lineup is bad, as are all release lineups, the games shown for eventual release dwarf the exclusives available on X1 by a multiple degree margin and are actually comparable with the ps4 exclusives, combined with the system being region free I can't help being happy. Also the online thing is only if you wanna do multiplayer and most of the exclusive games listed are single player, so I don't see the issue.

All in all, this is better than I had ever hoped it'd be, I think the key is having no expectations from Nintendo. When they put out a decent effort it seems amazing.

More doesnt mean good when most of the games, yes most, are shitty mobile ports, RPG maker games, or just plain ol shovelware. Im waiting for the Impossible Quiz to show up for 4.99.

And people need to stop trashing on Nintendo and Consoles when they never cared about either anyways, but people still do it.

The money and effort that go into makign PC gaming actually superior is not worth it for most, including me.

As for the sub money, well, for one, as long as WoW is as popular as it is, 50$ a year is a drop in the bucket. Maybe you think WoW is dumb, and arent guilty of this, but WoW is a PC game that really undermines PC gaming complaining about subs.

And the money I find tends to be worth it. 360's online was far and away better than PS3's, and PS4's online seems vastly improved. I bet Nintendo Switch will be far better for online than the Wii U ever was.

I just stick with Steam and GoG for PC. I dont like being all over the place, and I only used GoG cause they offered Arena and Daggerfall. Even still I only use it when Steam outright doesnt have it.
