Don't worry. No More heroes 2, if it is even half as good as the first, will be great, and Madworld looks to be fun. Of course, if they are average modern game length (9-11 hours), they won't last very long.

Weekly Wii hate thread number 764

I know in this day and age 'Hardcore' means 'shooter' and 'mature' means 'blood' but seriously - just shut the fuck up.

Go to Metacritic and you'll see more than 30 games that score 80 or higher.

House of the Dead: Overkill and Madworld are just around the corner to satisfy your need for 'hardcore' 'mature' titles.

But for gods sake if your taste in games is so narrow then why fork out for a machine that never professed to cater for that market?

The problem is you bought the wrong machine - if you're stupid enough to buy into hype then why would anyone care about your whining?

The Wii has just had an overall average selection of games, I even preferred the Gamecube more than Wii's selection of games. I just recently bought Mario Galaxy so I hope that turns out good.

Well, I consider myself a gamer. But I'm not a serious enough gamer to buy the Wii just so I have it if you know what I mean. There would need to be some games that I could get behind and there just aren't. Same reason why I picked the 360 over the PS3 but that's another story. Either way, in the last year I've gone back to my PC gamer roots so I don't care.

Nintendo is and has always been a company. A companies main goal is to make money! The casual gamer market is ripe with sponges full of money to be squeezed out. Nintendo just got there before Sony and Microsoft and started squeezing first, if albeit a little to hard.

The wii is kinda cool, but I have a few complaints for it, though it's biggest perk to me is I can play the Metroid Prime series on it, one of my favorite series of all, but I've only got 5 games for it including wii sports and play.

That's the problem with the wii, it's too. well... cheap. Not price wise (although it is relatively) It's full of developers that just seem intent on phoning it in. with only first party games being released with any consistency.
I traded mine in along with all my games and accessories for a 360.

I agree. This lack of games is what motivated me to buy a 360.
Thats just going from bad to worse.
You would be giving him a reach around if it was a PS3.
There's a mental image I could have quite happily lived without.
A mental image with an air of truth to it however, whether you like it or not.

Even when the Wii gets games that are on the other consoles, the inferior hardware hurts the content considerably. Watch Yahtzee's review of TFU or read this VGcats [http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=278] to see what I mean.

Signed. I haven't really played my wii except for like a week into a new title I get before the interest drops, meanwhile in 2008 I got a 360 and a used ps2 slim to replace my one that died due to the utter lack of console games to play for wii.

I agree. After Zelda and Smash Brothers it's just been a never-ending flow of casual stuff with a few "hardcore" gems. I like the idea of more people playing games, but it seems like Nintendo doesn't care about the Nintendo faithful anymore, just the money they can get from everyone else.
They ARE in the business of making money.
They couldn't make slightly more by putting out some hardcore titles as well?
Not really actually...
No More Heroes didn't sell too well. If you put a "hard core" title on a system designed for people who like Cooking Mama chances are it might not sell too well.
Let me rephrase that...
They couldn't make slightly more by putting out a new Zelda title as well?
As much as I'm a fan of Zelda, I'd like to see some new IPs. Or heck give me a new Ice Climbers game

When has Nintendo been about "hardcore" games? Nintendo games were generally always too bright and colourful compared to their rivals, thats why as a kid I always preferred my Megadrive (genesis), Playstation and PS2 over my SNES and N64 (didnt even bother with a gamecube).

Nintendo may be really casual now but its not like it was ever hardcore to begin with.
