I own a Wii and I have exactly 4 games for it which is pathetic compared to my PS3/360/PS2 library of games.

The thing I would do when I buy a Wii is this:

Buy a few good titles like SSBB, NMH and Zelda and then spend your money on the downloadable games.

And this thread has been done to death by the way.

I tested out the Wii at my friends house and while I have to admit that it is indeed fun for a while it loses it's appeal considerably quickly. Besides the critically small amount of good games is what keeps me glued to the PC realm... wait that's not entirely true, bought a Nintendo DS a few weeks ago, not one moment that I've been disappointed with that little black treasure.

Nintendo has been sending all of its best games to DS lately. Another well done DS FPS in "Moon", another Fire Emblem, Pokemon Platinum, The Legacy of Ys books 1 and 2, Chrono Trigger, Cesar Milan: Dog Whisperer, Castlevania, and Age of Empires.

Nintendo is and has always been a company. A companies main goal is to make money! The casual gamer market is ripe with sponges full of money to be squeezed out. Nintendo just got there before Sony and Microsoft and started squeezing first, if albeit a little to hard.
Yeah but logically once the economy really tanks who do you thinks going to still buy games The "hardcore" or the "casual". Their plan is unusually short-term.
Only if you ignore the part of their plan that states that they will try to slowly direct the new "casual" gamers towards more traditional games.

...Which they still make, although people seem to forget that Nintendo usually put 2-4 years into their high-profile titles.

Weekly Wii hate thread number 764

I know in this day and age 'Hardcore' means 'shooter' and 'mature' means 'blood' but seriously - just shut the fuck up.

Go to Metacritic and you'll see more than 30 games that score 80 or higher.

House of the Dead: Overkill and Madworld are just around the corner to satisfy your need for 'hardcore' 'mature' titles.

But for gods sake if your taste in games is so narrow then why fork out for a machine that never professed to cater for that market?

The problem is you bought the wrong machine - if you're stupid enough to buy into hype then why would anyone care about your whining?

The list for games hasn't been THAT horrible for the Wii, but i will agreed that it has lacked a lot of luster. Similar to a lot of Wii owners, I too went out and bought a 360 to pass through the lulls of games on the Wii, and it has showed me how little I use the damn system. I am a nintendo fanboy at heart, and I will always hold hope for the little white paperweight, but that means they would need to come out with a zelda game soon or start buying into better third party companies that could actually contribute to their system. A reacquisition of RARE would be great.

I don't know, I have just lost interest in gaming recently because no games are out there that I find fun anymore. Not just the Wii is guilty of this, but each console putting out all the same FPS's that get such amazing marks and acclaim, but they generally suck. I know thats just personal opinion, but almost every game that came out in 2008 bored me to tears, but maybe the Wii bored me the most.

You speak true words I bought my 360 at first knowing that when the Wii would come out I would probally put in on the shelf, ironic that although the Wii is now the leader in sales it is the system , at the moment I am disatisfied with.

This is not a Wii hate thread, I just wanted to express my opinions on the current lack of interesting games on the Wii. Some of you have agreeded with me, others have been nice enough to share upcoming games that hold some promise.

This is why I'm glad I didn't get a Wii. There's only like four games I would want for the Wii and that's it. My advice for you, SELL IT.

No I did not buy the wrong machine, I bought it because I liked Nintendo, I do not look at review scores as the reviewers do not know my likes or dislikes, just a belief in what the generic gamer would like. My taste's are only narrowed because Nintenodo keeps trying to shove gimmicky shit down my throat, hardcore could not mean necessarily mature, just a more indepth expeirce which many games on the nintendo wii lack.

If you love Nintendo so much, then take a closer look at its lineup of games instead of sitting back and complaining about how there aren't any that you like. Going to the local video rental store does not count. If you look at a game titled, "Bikini Zombie Slayers" and say to yourself, "No, it's not hardcore nor cool." there is something terribly wrong with you.

If you buy great third party games such as No More Heroes, Fire Emblem, Ghost Squad, the releases coming this February and March, as well as other games listed in this thread (and others on this forum; I've made a few large Wii game posts myself in other complaint threads since I own about twenty of them), then that will support the community of game makers into making more of those great games. If you don't and instead sit about saying how no such games exist with others, then your wish will be granted: no such games will exist.

There is a GTA game for the Wii in March. Rockstar Games stated in an interview that, should enough people buy it and support 'more mature games', they will make many more where that came from.

I used to be nintendo faithful, but i mean old nintendo faithful. Nintendos glory days ended many years ago. I got the gamecube but only used it for brawl and the RE remake. I thought about getting a wii but that thought died when i played it at a friends house. I got a ps3 and 360 instead.

I'll dust off my Wii after Pikmin 3 comes out. In the meantime, I'm going to be playing Saints Row 2.

I agree. After Zelda and Smash Brothers it's just been a never-ending flow of casual stuff with a few "hardcore" gems. I like the idea of more people playing games, but it seems like Nintendo doesn't care about the Nintendo faithful anymore, just the money they can get from everyone else.
Add Metroid Prime 3 to the list of good ones and I agree.

Actually, I think "mature" and "hardcore" really mean "not Samba De Amigo."
