I Don't understand how, even if you're against premarital sex and birth control, you can be blind to the consequences of not givving sex ed, condoms, and the pill to teenagers. Do they really think that if we just discourage them enough, teenagers won't have sex?
Scaring your teenagers so much they won't do something? Has that ever worked? in the history of man?

I read the press release about that study, the idea that they were presenting was that when you have sex it increases your bonding. That lets you fall into the rose-tinted glasses trap easier. The longer you wait the more you learn about the person before that kicks in, and the more accurately you can judge the quality and long-term stability of the relationship.

I actually didnt read what the reason was or really care (although, that reason you say they presented makes sense to me). I had already made up my mind that I was going to wait until I was married before having sex on the grounds that "Condoms, etc can fail, and due to personal reasons and beliefs, abortions is out of the question, thus getting a girlfriend pregnant will leave me shit outta luck" and "One of the reasons that my girlfriend loves me is because I DONT want sex with her until we are married, which she believes makes me 100 times the man other guys are." The fact that science was seemingly vindicating my choice was just the cherry on top.

If you consider a woman to be a life, then a fetus is readily interfering with her human rights. So there's that part.

Actually it's not like that at all, since sperm in a condom is during the act of sex witch is a volentary action, where as having a period is not.

It is more like saying you have to save your sperm when/if you have nocturnal emissions (wet dreams).

There was a push to remove the "free platform" concept from my local student union, basically as a means to try and curb any BNP or EDL groups that might exist within the university. What bothered me wasn't so much the free-speech issue, but the fact that being a BNP member isn't even illegal. I mean, I hardly want these guys to be around, but I don't think stifling the voice of a (somewhat) legitimate political party is the right thing to do. Let them have their platform, and let people decide if they're a pack of fucktards for themselves.

In the ten years after I left high school I went from Socialist to Democrat to Independent to Republican to Libertarian.
