No, I did not use the search bar! And I'm proud.

It's honestly just to make sure that there aren't a million threads all of the same content. I mean, it's great if you've got an original idea, but just make sure... Y'know?

It bothers me, but for different reasons.

Nobody is ever being unique with their threads. If they think they are, they just haven't dredged around enough. Sure if it's news it may actually be new, but new does not equal unique either. Anyone can search around for a news article and post it like a kid on current events day.

Search bar approved probably annoys me more cause it just shows that the people who sound off about it don't actually know how to, or didn't really use the search bar.

It's odd the cycles. Sometimes hardly anyone cares. Sometimes you can't go into a thread (any thread) without seeing Search Bar four or five times a page. Oh well I can always count on seeing this thread over again to know that calls of Search Bar are on the rise again.

I think I've had to say my favourite and worst game on this site at least 10 times. So, please at least, attempt to use the search bar. It won't bite... yet.

If you ask me the entire idea of using the search bar doesn't make sense. Okay, having to threads discussing whether Twilight sucks or not at the same time is pretty pointless, but if a thread is completely dead, it's better to make a new one.

If it's not 'USE THE SEARCH BAR' it's 'STOP NECROING THREADS'. Funny how, with the searchbar one, the person is usually trying to suggest you check before you start a topic, you know, to keep it fresh and original, yet they are the ones using an incredible stale statement. Ironic, no?

The problem with the search bar is that the topic title is often different than yours, and that searching "Title and Body" always yields a bazillion results.

Hah. Search Bar.
I use the Search Button. Which can be found here. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/search] It's a lot more precise with its results.

Anyway, I do use it sometimes and I hate the "SEARCH BAR!!!" posters if they post that and only that.
I also hate the fact that now due to people posting search bar has led to "This thread has been search bar approved!" lines at the start of most threads.

Fuck the search bar. Never use it. i like my own unique threads. besides, a new topic allows fresh people to answer. Apart from Furburt of course.

I don't understand why anyone wouldn't use the search bar. Also, this threads been done before. Irony.

I do believe however, that the forums should be purged/reset. It's time for a spring clean.

I also tend to hate relationship threads simply because the OP invariably has a distinct lack of balls which is the true cause of all their problems.
Coming from someone who claims to be female, that choice of wording seems rather poor.

OT: It's probably a good idea to leave posting threads until you're a bit better-acquainted with the community. The over-reaction when someone repeats a thread can be quite ridiculous, so it's probably best for newbies to post on a few topics, if only to got a sense of what thread ideas are regularly chucked around.

I use the searchbar, to make sure what I'm making hasn't been used in the past month.
It's annoying when so much of the site is clouded with the same conversation, even if it's low-quality.
However, I'm not going to go around hounding people about the search bar.

I don't like repeat discussions. If you can remake an old thread and make it work, then good, you're promoting new discussion. This thread, for example, winds up having the exact same things said, making it redundant.
Also, if you're complaining about "Search bar, OMG" posts now, you shoulda seen the 'scapist a year or two ago.

Any posts I make tend not to be a commonly repeated thread about MW2 or why "TWILIGHT SUCKS" or any of that pish and (as far as i remember) i've not had anybody bellow SEARCH BAR at me, which is re-assuring. But I don't use the search bar, ever.
