Hypothetically:

You live near enough to a park that it is within sight whenever you step out of the house or look out a certain window. One day while walking around you see something that you can only describe as a monster, a threatening looking one at that, large sharp teeth, long claws etc... you can imagine whatever you want, the point is that it's supposed to be a unfamiliar/not easily described creature that gives the impression that if it wanted to kill a human, it would be fully capable of doing so very easily.

The monster itself just stays in one place in the middle of the park, turning its head, shifting its eyes towards any human that passes by close enough. It stays there all day and night everyday, You have noticed however, that it is gone from sight for about an hour everyday, during the hours of 3pm-8pm, so far you have yet to see it leaving or coming back from any direction, but you've figured that it's gone for around an hour everyday.

Example: One day at 5:30pm, you notice the monster is gone but when you look again at 6:40pm, it's back in the same spot. Another day it could be from 6:20pm-7:27pm etc...

The thing is, no one in the park or in the neighborhood ever seems to notice the monster at all and anyone you ask says they see nothing at all.

Considering all this, I ask, if you were in this situation, what would you do? Admit insanity? Try to come close to the monster? What will be your course of action?

I'd sit and watch it for a day. A WHOLE day. Figure out what it does/where it goes before doing anything else.

Well, I'd freak out a bit too.

It would probably trigger schitzophrenia in me. I'd be thinking it was some aspect of me, like...the bad side of me or something, and I'd end up questioning myself. I would consider it as some kind of warning to myself. I think weird things...

I would talk to the monster and ask him if he would like some tea and scones. We will then become the bestest of friends, and I will show my monster to everyone...wait fuck no one can see him. I will attempt to show my monster to everyone and then they will through me into a mental home:D

Considering the negative social implications of just blurting it out the the wrong people. I suppose the best course of action would be to use a common excuse to get someone to come along with you (i mean going to the park wouldn't be that hard to manage) walk right up to the thing in broad daylight and jam a stick in it's eye. If it's real... granted you're most likely screwed, but no more so than if you had told the local psychiatrist about it. They would have just locked you up and drugged you for the remainder of your life anyhow. Then again if it's real and apparently has physical mass that means it can be run from or even captured.

I'd watch it intently and monitor its every move. There's a spy or agent of some kind that is trailing me quite a bit and even watches me in my home, and I simply watch him back, at least I would, but me wife boarded up the windows because she's worried about me. I'm serious though... This guy drives me insane and I wish he'd go away. I don't know why he spies on me he just does.

I would probably become convinced that I was insane, sit watching it for a few days at a time (completely neglecting myself and all other aspects of my daily life of course), and eventually approach it and see what happens.

See if one can take pictures of it. sketch it. set up a pin-hole camera facing that spot and leave it for a month.
after obsevation, if there is no impression of it in any form of recording, approach it, attempt to walk through it.

I wouldn't really mind. Not my problem that a monster is loose in town.

Suddenly realize that five hours do not equal one hour, realize that the presence of monsters are not the only things adding up improperly in my head, and check my medication.

If no one can see it, I'd be pretty suspicious if I saw my friend randomly get clawed to ribbons or half of his body eaten... Especially if there was nothing that could of caused it...
OT: I'd probably just watch, be freaked out, but love it, because I'm into stuff like this :D
It also occurs to me you could just hit it with some spray paint or something as well. If it's real and there is some weird reason only you seem to see it. The paint would make it visible, otherwise it has no mass and can't interact with our world. In which case I don't suppose there is much reason to really worry about it.

Watch him for a full day and follow it when it leaves. It'd either be thinking I was insane or, as a result of reading/watching/listening too much to fantasy tales, think I was some sort of chosen-one or Power-Ranger or something. I'd probably carry some knives or something, and possibly leave a message which could be found explaining why I disappeared if I did not return. I'm organised like that.

I'd be kind of glad too, since I have this thing about life not being as interesting as it should be.

Sounds like something from an H.P. Lovecraft story. In that case the choice is simple: drive yourself crazy in making your life's pursuit to hunt it down and kill it, which will ultimately end with you dying a horrible death alone and alienated from everyone you loved still uncertain as to whether or not you actually killed it.

So a super-sexy humanoid monster-girl with fangs and claws you say???

I'd ask her out...
