Nearly everything in Bayonetta, on normal mode, is bloody hard. Mostly because I can't time my dodges, but also sort of because I'm like

JAWSUS WHAT THE HECK IS THAT WHY IS IT EATING ITSELF OH GOD THIS IS LIKE MY NIGHTMARES OH GOD IT'S ATTACKING WHAT DO I DO.

And yeah. I think I would die in the tutorial of a horror game. :/
i agree bayonetta can be hard and the first time i died like 15 time during a mission. but the bosses weren't the biggest trouble i always hated those lighting and fire beast combo that showde up. man the kiled me almost as much as the finnal boss.
Yes the lightning fire guys are the absolute worst.
If you think the bosses are hard now, while till you get to hard mode (or whatever it's called). It is absolutely impossible then

That god-damn horse in Devil May Cry 3.
It's been ages since I played the game and that boss is the only thing I can remember from it.

Poison Ivy on the hardest difficulty, in Arkham Asylum.

She was just cheating!

Final Fantasy XIII, Chapter 10 (On The Palemecia).

NOTE: This may be a bit of a spoiler for people who aren't there yet.

Barthandelus, the Fal'cie.

He killed me so many times that I could have hugged George Bush when I beat him. In a way, he's the final boss, but this references to the first time you fight Barthandelus, not the third time.

The funny thing is, he's gets easier as you progress! The next time you fight him, he only killed me once, and I have never died on the third time you fight him. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Oh, by the way, aren't the graphics heavenly in this game? It's like a god made them.
It's one of those games where magnificent graphics overrides gameplay. Grinding 30+ hours in Chapter 10 just to be able to advance is.. very annoying. >.<

@Shockolate - Just switch them medic/medic and commander/ravager consistently. When you do so is rather obvious (medic when he does his hard hitting specials, offensive when he's just being defensive). First time I played the game though, he beat me 9 times. I know the pain.

Elizabeth Greene in prototype. she has a main health bar, that regenerates, along with three smaller health bars you have to destroy before you can even touch her. toppled with tanks attacking you and massive hunters jumping everywhere. and the three smaller health bars regenerate. and it fires rocks and green plasma at you that magically lock on to you.

yeah it's a ***** to fight.
Oh god.

You mean to tell me that she isn't the final boss?

*sigh*

I cannot wait to see what the game shoves in my face next.
Without revealing anything.. no more bosses in that game after her that have remotely the same set-up. Just very high damage resistance.

Broodmother in Dragon Age: Origins. I had it on CASUAL and it obliterated me about 30 times. And I eventually only won because of some sort of glitch that wouldn't let it attack.
It was just awful... I beat it first time, somehow, but only because I'd bought every single health item I could get beforehand, and had Morrigan learn a couple of healing spells. I think I was down to my dog at the end, but it won. By the end of the game, I'd lost track of how many bosses had been beaten by the dog when the rest of my party were down. Give me a pack of Mabari, and I could end the blight instantly.

Also Flemeth; I didn't beat her. After the ridiculously quick defeat I suffered the first few times, I decided to lie to Morrigan about her death.

Oh, and Slash on Guitar Hero 3. I can't beat him on hard.

The Dragon Tank from Chrono Trigger, regenerating health and a crap load of attacks, and I can only beat him with two of the weaker characters. Needed to use a strategy guide to find out where to hit and what with.

Krauser from RE4 on hard (or was it on impossible? I can't even remember if there was a difficulty beyond hard). He's way harder than Saddler. In fact he's way harder than anything else in that game. Ever.

The Aster Protoflorian from Final Fantasy 13

This thing kicked my ass so many times, I stopped playing right after I finally beat it. That's how much it owned me, that I quit the game after killing it.

And there's supposed to be a stronger version later on??? Hell naw.
This thing was so very easy...
You should be ashamed...

Apparently not, seeing how me and both my brothers all had a large amount of trouble with it.

Well, I can't think of many non-bosses that really gave me trouble... I know the huge four legged stomping boss in "Eternal Darkness" gave me grief. I had a couple of attempts at it, then just never went back again.

One enemy that repeatedly kicked my ass comes to mind, though he is a final boss: the last fight in "Resonance of Fate". Holy crap, was that guy brutal. I was sweating bullets, max concentration, not sure I would ever be able to do it. I had to try 6 times, at around 20 minutes a try, and every time I'd get so close but general wear and tear on my party would just run out a few turns before the bad guys. Really made me put everything I'd learned up until then to work.

It was fantastic. I only wish more games made me work for my endings like that. The sense of accomplishment was like nothing else.

The fire cerberus from God of War III. Near the end of the game a fire-breathing three-headed hellhound shows up for you to fight in a fairly tight area. Not that bad, until these goddamn satyrs spawn next to it. They always interrupt your attacks and do ridiculous damage, especially compared to the weaker versions of God of War and God of War II. It took me only four tries to kill it, but each time it was insanely frustrating.

Look at this fucker - he knows what an asshole he is. He's smiling.

Giga Gaia from Chrono Trigger because it takes out 3/4 of your HP right off the bat. Even moreso, the Golem Twins.

Oh, and I experienced this with my first video game: Pokemon Yellow. It sure was fun fighting Brock with a Pikachu.

Did you even read that document on the desk? That literally told you how to beat it.

In Batman: AA there is a boss that drops down from an elevator shaft. He is pretty easy by himself but when all the henchmen come in to help it becomes very difficult, especially on hard mode, because you have to be hitting the buttons in this order. Block Block Attack once Block Block Block Attack once. It takes a while...

When Doom first came out over a decade ago, The Cyberdemon was the most bad ass incarnation to happen to computer games for a long time.

Nowadays however I'm weirdly good at Doom.

I remember having a hard time with Giga Gaia to but once I figured out the attacks and the immobilizing counter, it's much much easier.

Many FFXIII bosses kicked my ass because of that games limitations...It infuriated me that I could only grind to get items after a certain point so, more than once, I had my party as highly leveled as they were allowed to be only to get smashed to pieces by the mid/end-chapter bosses.
