My god . . . I love you so much right now man. Being born in the mid 80s shit like Animaniacs and Toonami WAS my fucking childhood . . . I thought I was one of the only ones left . . . and most of the rest I'd met have forgottn almost everyhting about it. Gods I loved that shit . . . the days when Dragon Ball Z and Samurai Jack were on every day . . . the days when I'd wake up extra early before school to watch Monster Rancher and Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper Chronicles . . . wow . . . I'm feeling so nostalgic I might cry . . .

Sure, it was propoganda, but at least it was for a good cause...
The moment you mentioned Digimon, which I remembered was on Fox, I was reminded of this series:

No.

That is not Godzilla.

This is Godzilla:

And this is Godzilla:

No, what you have their is an oversized mutant iguana, Also known as Zilla or GINO.

See, look:

/rage.

Sorry, us Godzilla fans really hate the 1998 one.

Where's Kids Next Door? I loved that show. And Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends too.

I loved those shows.
They'll be added.

Where'd my other post go...?

EDIT: Oh, there it is, sorry about the double post.

No, just...no. The mid 00s aren't long enough ago to be "nostalgic." The 90s are at least a decade ago. The mid and early 00s are only half a decade ago; that kind of time passes in the blink of an eye.

I'm sorry, I'm going to sound like a snobby douche here, but a generation that was raised in the 00s hasn't been around long enough to know what nostalgia is. Give it at least a decade before you reminisce about some of those later shows.

Now, for my contribution:

(I would have linked a YouTube video, but every dipshit there decided the original footage+song wasn't worth including, or putting effort into beyond holding a shitty camera in front of a TV screen, or they would include some stupid-ass riff commentary :p)

While I didn't watch all that many of the things you listed, I'd agree that animation greatly improved in the 90's; relatedly, I strongly disagree with the creator of Ren & Stimpy on a lot of things. In my book, many of the things you listed indicate an improvement from the short-dominated nature of animation before the 70's (I like Loony Toons as much as the next guy, but we had to move on).

/trying to sound smart

And yes, Megas is awesome.

Seeing Bill and Mandy up there i finally got the pun in " The grim adventures of Bill and Mandy"

anyway. If you ever watched this show

did you ever wonder what the hell kind animal was Arthur.

Turns out he was an Aardvark...
Everyday when you're walking down the street...

OK, this is where I melt into a puddle of nostalgia...

IMO, the "golden age" began in the mid-80s and ended when Warner Bros gave us their swan songs in the early 2000s.

We've had some good stuff since then, but I don't think we will ever have animation that good or scripts that witty or clever again. Today, we have terrible script writers, garbage Disney shows instead of cartoons, and unholy amounts of cheap trash anime flooding the channels everywhere else.

I'd say it was the great surge before Cartoons fell flat on their face.

Add this to yer list kiddies:

What other show can you watch your favorite hero doing freedom fighter/terrorist activities to the the baddy from the game...who's become even more scary looking and REALLY scary sounding?

Once Megas ended, the golden age ended. It all went to hell in a hand basket save for a few reruns of Courage. Oh god, Last of the Starmakers was a sad, sad episode. Fuck you space whale!

Ginga: Nagareboshi gin. Also known as Silver Fang. It's from 1986, but it's the best of them all. Here's the opening:

Fucking awesome!

Of all those I've only watched Pokémon and Death note. I have no idea how Death note fits in with the rest of those shows though.

Wow, i have to agree with evilartist here.
Im only 23 and I've been working in the same place since the mid 00's.

Real nostalgia is the Rugrats, Ahh! Real Monsters, Doug, Nickelodeon, Invader Zim (before hottopic sank its teeth into it).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OHnX5cSwqA&feature=related (awesome show.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR5zFiIxqSs&feature=related (this song carries weight)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kszbf5n3F9U (Good as well)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-tgGwKZeko&feature=related (If you haven't seen this show, watch it)

But! I do have to give props for a great list you have there. Definitally worthy of praise. I remember alot of them very fondly myself.
