Two things I learned today:
1. We have military stores up here (that is to say in Canada)
2. Military stores sell video games

Yea, Canadian special forces are scary stuff. They go by the acronym E.A.T.B.A.L.L.S., or Elite Anti-Terrorist Beaver Assault Legion and Liquidation Squad. And they can really mess up your day.
LOL, that's funnier then it should be.

Still, when they find Obama dead in the oval office with a maple leaf branded on his face remember you made this post where any Canadian could see it and report it to the mounties who in turn use their supercomputers to upload data to the Canadian Unilateral Networking Team Responding to Americas Global Stupidity.

Wow, I worked hard for that.
Your hard work ammounted to nothing in terms of amusement.
And your trolling amounted to something in terms of being obvious. Go troll away little trollykins, skip along and sing! La la la la la, just being a troll! :)

Here, have a basket of flowers, it masks your musky troll stink.
No, I'm not trolling, as you should be able to tell for obvious reasons I am usually the target of trolls, hence I hate them, think before posting ;).

you know what? I think these people do more to currupt the youth of a country than the stuff they're against.

Unless you live on a base, I fail to see how this is relevant.

...Ohhh, I see it now. A chance for all our American friends to come in and bash the Canadian army. Even though, you know, our boys have been dying in Iraq in a war your government so wisely started, and we were forced into. Funny how that works, isn't it?

Because when you ban something, you protect the people. Don't ask why, because if you ask why the terrorist win.

I honestly don't see what everyone's problem is with that game. Are there multi-player modes where the Taliban team have to blow something up? Are these places copies of real world locations? Do you play as the Taliban in single player? Do they try to make you sympathise with the Taliban?
seriously, the little research I have done indicates the answers to all these are no, so what's getting the military's panties in a twist?

I just heard on the local news that like the title says, they banned MOH in our canadian military stores because of the Taliban stuff. This is getting out of hand.
firstly, i don't understand, as in military army surplus (i wouldn't have thought they would sell games...) or canadian military establisments?

and good. this game fucking annoys me because i have a friend in afghanistan. i hear first hand about the things the taliban do, but in the end im not the target audience, or at least the people the devs made this for. the soldiers are.

the fact MoH has so completely alienated itself from the military (the people they were idiolizing i assume) is delicious in a whole new way.

hopefully we might start seeing game devolpment companies STOP trying to make money off easy marketing done by their use of tasteless and heartless marketing ploys.

p.s. that might not make as much sense as i hoped, its currently 2am here...

Oh the over-reaction this and all the other times this happens by people who dislike the idea. How dare someone, an organisation, decide not to sell a particular product in their stores for a particular internal reason. We should make fun of them, for that seems the worthwhile thing to do. How about that one product Amazon doesn't sell that none of us talk about? What about the other product Target, or Zellers, or Dixons do not sell for one reason or another?

If only people could use non-military stores. If only we could buy a book Amazon decides not to stock but Waterstone's does. If only I could get a fresh star fruit from one store when another doesn't carry it. If only. Well since I can't, I'll be outraged instead. How dare they not carry something for the time being (not forever, not banned completely, just not going to be sold in certain stores for the time being).

Though this does remind me I need to make sure Future Shop has my new mobile number for when they tell me my copy of the game is in.

Wait, where the hell were these stores when I growing up as a Canadian base brat? All the on base stores were either Tim Hortons or convenience stores that sold overpriced crap. I had to drive half a goddam hour to buy a frigging game.
They probably only exist on foreign deployment bases in the sections under Canadian administration... and if you think where most of those would be, maybe refusing the sell the game there is a bit more understandable than it would normally be.
