Not one to be outdone. Particularly not by "New classic" (pfeh) I myself aquired a copy of RPG maker XP and have created a demo of a game that will be, at a conservative estimate, at least four or five times better than his.

It is available here [http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=5a83bf50902fda3fd2db6fb9a8902bda]

If you don't have the RPGMAKER RTP already (it's required for rpg maker games. You can aquire it here [http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/rtp_download.html]

Note: Game contains foul language.
EDIT: nobody saw anything! However I will now commence download of this RPGMAKER RTP.
Hahaha. You totally tried it without the RTP didn't you?
I did nothing of the sort, it was merely cursed by some insidious evil. Now that I have dispelled the curse and played it my rating stands at 27 thumbs down, there was no substance to the game just a bunch of foul mouthed jokes. By the way the first quote was said by Edmund Burke.

Tsk. Surely you jest. No substance? The game features two, count them, TWO endings. Far more than most convential games offer. Perhaps you simply cannot comprehend it's meaning. You can simply stare dumbly at it's deeper mysteries like a retarded monkey gazing at a Monet. That, and it is essentially a bunch of foul mouthed jokes.

Hey, is NewClassic (haha! Back to bolding!) still working on the game?

Any updates whatsoever?

Any hints?

Any love?

Anything?

@Decoy Doctorpus: I shall try your RPG some time, when I'm not lazy atleast.

The fact that I cannot currently download said RTP means that I must give this game a major demerit, and therefore proclaim Mr. Lassic's product as superior.

If it comes down to an Escapist contest on who can make the best RPG, I hope that somebody uses something open-source and cross-platform. Something like Allegro, possibly.
Actually you can add the assets from the rtp to the executable, it just bumps it up in size by 20 megs and isn't worth it until you have a big enough product. Don't worry, you will get to play my opus (and realize how superior it is to Mr Lassic's) eventually.

You, Mr. Pus, have a talent for turning the mundane into the fantastic, I just thought you should know that.

And to Mr. Lassic I would like to request some updates, nothing big, maybe just something like, "I just finished a big section of the game one about a month or so till completion".

Now my RPG features the following.

The ability to push blocks.
Exploding blocks.
Non-exploding blocks.
Holes for blocks to fall down.
Crates.
The ability to jump over holes.
A compelling storyline set across five universes.

Oh my. It seems my thread's been ganked. Decoy hates me, it seems.

While this would be a fantastic idea, I don't think I would compete. I'm trying to make a game, not really try to wow the hearts of Escapists everywhere. Hell, I'm convinced none of you would notice if I just randomly disappeared for several weeks.

Still working. Meatloaf was very sexy and on-the-ball, and I was slow as hell. Given how busy I've been constantly, I haven't hardly done any work. The database and maps have seen a little cleaning, as well as the finalization of the world map. The rest, though, is still up in the air. I'll keep you posted once a Monday, if I can keep to that schedule.

Frankly, downloading the RTP requires the same space as downloading a copy of the game with the RTP inside, they're just distributed to different folders. Either way works, but mine's more economical for the individuals.

I'm working on the database, cleaning out the excess filth from the defaults, adjusting the jobs and skills, and writing preliminary plot scripts for the early, post-prologue characters. It's oddly difficult, given that I have to write for 6 different character types (The three jobs for either gender, all with unique personality, dialog, and quests). But yes, Monday updates.

Sorry if I revive an old thread, but I'm simply not willing to look through all the pages.
Has the full game been released, and if not, then what have you been doing, Nuke Lassic, you enviable stud you?

He has made a playable prologue of sorts. A taste of what is coming (funtastic). He has now also done the first dungeon.

The demo's pretty nice! It's fun and represents the forum members well!

Now if only I was in it as a cameo...
