Hilarity? I don't know, I found it funny when I used it in combat and all it did was let me measure distances more easily.

I got a cameo too, though it's blasphemy to say I would be anywhere without my iPod.

This game is great, very humorous, though there is no way this could ever go commercial, too many inside jokes.
We'd play it though...

The combat may be easy but remember that you are lvl 27 on the demo and it may be a low lvl area, or that health regenerates inbetween battles.

Also, I'd just like to add that the ruler confuses me, is there a point to it at all?
Apparently the Red Guard Title/cloak item gives you health regen. You'll note if you get hit by a Flame War it does so little damage that you've regenned it all by the next turn, whereas if you unequip it, no such regen occurs.

I believe you regen 1 health point per step with it equipped as well while not in battle ;D

And yeah, I didn't see a point in the Ruler either. Probably just an item to test the item/inventory system.

Welp, I managed to download the game and play it and I've got to say New Classic (screw the bolding);

I love you. Please have my children.

Definately can't wait until you get further into completeing the game, I would love to help somehow but I don't know what I could do.

The demo was fun.
A suggestion, perhaps you could base some of the towns on game genres. It could make for some interesting sub-quests.
(My knowledge of RPG maker is non-existent if it doesn't work like that)

Suggest amusing sidequests! Thus far I've come up with the schizophrenic Captain Grammar/Admiral Alliteration, a super hero duo who is the same person and changes personalities by changing hats (specifically military-style hats, going by his titles) I think Nuke came up with "Archduke Assonance" as an opponent.

Ah ha! You should be able to enlist in either my StickArmy or NewClassic's Triumvirate of Evil [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.72042?page=2#746877], each with their own ranks and quests!

Idea time!

Have NPC's as just generic people, but have any Escapist people you want in the game spread out, maybe two or three at most per area at most and make them the important NPC's

Oh and make a super high level area full of enemies styled after the ZP comment sections.

The demo was pure awesome. However I would like to reiterate my plea to get myself in as a pirate. Perhaps you meet me on your way to the troll spawning ground, IN THE CENTER OF THE EARTH!

Glow sticks are good.

But there's so many!
Galletea says:
There are never too many glowsticks
Thus I request a quest involving a shop which bought too many glowsticks. You have to go distribute the extras to random people around the world and when you finish you get a special Glowstick weapon.

I think you'll find some of the trolls move around too. Thus you are on the same level as the trolls.

Not so victorious now are you!

All the trolls can do is spin.

You're just making up things to hide the shame of having a character that doesn't move.

What about that superfast troll? Or the one that moves around?

Oh, and, side quest idea:
A banner ad takes over the largest town in the game and you must rid the town of the scourge.
Also, does this RPG creator allow a party system? Because if it does, then all included Escapist members should be able to join your party with one of their own special moves.

I believe it does, yes.

I confess I was a little bit saddened by my character's dialogue, though I trust Nuke will tune it up and improve it as the game progresses. 'twas only a demo after all.

Also, what Spartan Banana said about the moving trolls above is true ;D

Apparently I have terrible memory, as I just played it and couldn't remember any moving trolls, but then I went back and played it again, and sure enough there they were.

I guess I'm a troll then, but the important thing is that I'm moving and Amnestic isn't.

Also going through it again I realised the lack of a certain purple ninja. But it's only a demo, so I'm sure this grave error will be fixed later on.

I think that it should take place in The Magical Land Of Crepes And Pancakes In The Morning.

I want to play the piano. Or own a glowstick shop. I don't mind. Pretty please?
And maybe a quest involving avoiding Grammar and Deja Nazis?

Okay, in regards to all of the mentions of "Hey I'm in there/I don't like my part/Hey, I'm not in there," this was a demo that was written from start to finish, including equipment and effects, from 23:35 until 04:43, so most of the typos and errors and short dialogs were the end result of me being tired, and just working to get the major "quest" done. This is essentially a mini-game, and is a very hasty one. Everything about the full RPG will be bigger, grander, and more well-done. That said, that style of humor is the way my entire RPG is going to be done, including the giant enemy troll. Where you hit its weak point for massive damage [http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=T3e6Wy19jbo].

Ultimately, the game will be much harder, much cleaner, and less inside-joke related, (although there will be many many references). Although, I'm fairly hopeful that this cleared up a lot of questions you had, and got you at least partially excited in the project.
