One of my favorites has to be casting fire on self. Somewhere in the game, either a loading screen, book, or some mage, says that some of those really heavy into destruction spells would do that in order to buff up their stats... or something to that effect. Anyway, I tried it as part of my "no fast travel" playthrough just in case my immortal badass avatar decided to cast Finger of the Mountain, and it worked beautifully. This also bode well for my restoration spells.
On that note, I created a mage's cap with the same spell. Since mage's caps weigh in at nothing, you can "reverse pickpocket" them. Since most people don't wear hats, or the mage's hat is better than what they're wearing, they will eventually put it on, and then it's only a matter of time before they keel over. Much more useful in the Dark Brotherhood than those poison apples.
I actually wore this hat during the Great Sigil stone mission, because the statue created in your honor in Bruma wears what you were wearing during the mission. I was hoping for a flaming statue. No such luck.
For those about to question the wisdom of wearing a damaging item during a late game mission like that, I was about level 42 by that point, and had disregarded armor more than 20 levels ago. Anyone can steal a Great Sigil stone, but only an immortal badass can do it with in a flaming hat and without armor.
And while I'm at it, Morrowind is great if you like enchanting stuff. It set me back just over 22,000 gold, but a constant effect +4 health amulet really comes in handy. You will still die... a lot, but not as often with hanging around your neck.
Side note: maybe we can try for something between "immortal badass" and "dying with an expensive +4 constant health amulet" in Elder Scrolls V, Bethesda?
