Oblivion Players! Question regarding Dark Brotherhood entry!

Then what were you doing in the Dark Brotherhood?

I need to put another edit in the OP, I see. I was trying to get that person to have a clean record until the main story was over. I was just curious as to what would happen if I beat the story with only Fame and no Infamy.

i killed the main priest after he caught me after robbing from the church the weird thing was it was the first thing i did in oblivion as it was right after being told about how the empire was doomed.Then i went to bed in someones house and woke up with him leering over me he then instantly jumping into conversion as i got out of bed.Sadly there was an option to say ".... how long have you been watching me sleep" in a disturbed manner

I wanted a sword and some decent armor, being a lowly level 2 or 3 killed an imperial guard as a red guard.

Also, not sure if this post specifically belongs here, but I'd like to point out that, if you need to kill someone without getting a criminal record, you can just cast Touch of Rage on them, and when they attack you, just "retaliate" in self defense. Casting the spell isn't a crime, and fighting back isn't a crime, so you can get off clean.

I heard a rumor that the Dark Brotherhood recruited you if you kill someone so I went into the nearest house and killed the author of "Woman Gone Wild".

Guards were coming after me becuase I stole something and threw me out. So I opened an Oblivion gate and slaughtered the town. That'll teach Kavatch to fuck with me!

Seriously it was becuase I was chasing a deer down and missed and hit a random guard who was riding around.

The fucked up thing is that I wanted to get it by pushing that guy off the stair case in the shiver isles.That's always fun.

I killed the arena Grand Champion in an arena match, not sure why thats a murder but it was observed as. When the Recruiter showed up I killed him and took his robes.

I also got it by killing the Gray Prince, but the weird thing is that it wasn?t a murder (or it shouldn?t be, I mean he did ask my to kill him himself).

It's counted as an unprovoked attack, hence murder. UESP does a better job of explaining it than I could, so:

Killing your arena opponents can potentially count as murder. This happens if the opponent is killed without him/her ever turning hostile, for example: you immediately cast a Demoralize spell. Although you will not gain a bounty for the murder, it will appear in your statistics and will initiate the Dark Brotherhood questline.

That was how I did it for my character on the 360 version. On the PC version, I just cut down a random NPC in Bravil after making sure he wasn't involved in any quests.

For me it was when I went to close the first oblivion gate, I started to attack the little encampment made safely outside of Bravil.

in one of the villages or cities (can't remember wich one) i got a quest from some paranoid beggar that asked me to spy a few people to see if they were spying on the beggar and i reported to him that one of those was spying him, he then asked me to kill that spy and gave me good reward, i wished i had said they were all spies. thats how i got my dark brotherhood entrance ticket.

I believe he describes it as a 'virgin blade', whilst it's called the Blade of Woe in the menu. Either way, I stabbed him to death with it.

I was stabbing the dummy in the Fighter's Guild when that jerk Porter guy walked right in the way, then claimed I assaulted him.

I killed him. And I kill him every chance I get now.

Its after you complete the vampire quest for the orc that you fight last in the arena. Thats when I got the message and then the nest time I rested he came and I joined

this guard looked at me wrong so I turned down the difficulty setting and went on a killing spree, teach them to look the other way while I steal stuff. XD

I was out in the middle of the woods, and found a little ranch with three low-level warriors hanging around it. (An archer, meleer, and mage, I believe). Since they didn't seem to have any impact on any quests I'd come across yet, I decided I'd take their stuff... by force.

So I hopped up on the thatched roof of their house and let the arrows fly. First the mage, then the archer, and last the fighter. But after the Mage went down it told me my killing had been observed. Next time I went to sleep, I sure got a surprise!
