If you're anything like me, you genuinely love The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and playing it on the N64 was probably one of the most memorable gaming experiences of your life. If you aren't, then what are you doing in this thread?

Anywhow, I thought I'd start this thread to hear your most memorable moments whilst playing the game. They could be positive moments of triumph, or dark moments of defeat. They could have happened all the way back in 1998, or even last week while you were playing the game on the Wii VC!

Remember finding the third Small Key in the Water Temple?

Remember getting the Biggoron Sword?

Remember getting stuck for an hour one room away from Bongo-Bongo in the Shadow Temple, completely unaware of how to cross the chasm?

I sure remember all the above-mentioned moments, and countless others that made me fall in love with the game one minute, and curse its name the next.

Finally getting to the final boss of the Water Temple gave me a huge sense of relief. I can't even separate many standout moments, as the entire game was a blissful experience for me.

Getting stuck on the forest temple as adult link for a month. When I finally got through I nearly came in my pants.

I couldn't change my TV's brightness so getting through the very dark Forest Temple was a real ***** when I couldn't see anything!

I really loved getting Epona in that game. Winning the race, then just galloping off and jumping over the fence into the outside world.

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are firmly rooted in my childhood and they will always be two of my favourite games ever. Ah, the N64 Zeldas were the best in the series, in my opinion.

Killing the first boss as kid Link, and defeating Ganondorf. Other that I don't remember much, i haven't played it in years. Our N64 still WORKS, but my brother left it at a friend's house and won't retrieve it, and emulators are annoying to get to work on my poor old laptop.

Throwing Princess Ruto at things inside Jabu-Jabu.

Constantly repeating the same process after getting caught at the Gerudo Fortress.

Fighting Volvagia while blasting "Hammer Time" out of my speakers.

Realizing that Ganon can only be killed with the master sword after I'd been fighting him for an hour, using up all four bottles of blue potion/Nayru's Love combination, trying to kill him with the Biggoron's Sword, even after picking up the Master sword again. I had one heart left when I thought to switch, and, lo and behold, there came the final cutscene.

From your post, I can't tell which one of my moments you're talking about, but if it's the one in the Shadow Temple, the solution was to shoot the bomb flowers at the base of a stone pillar.

Boy, have I been there. Even though I've memorized the entire game, I still hate playing through the Forest Temple because of past frustrations.

I just bought the game and it brings back so many memories. The Great Deku Tree is what has the most nostalgia for me.

I used to only play until I turned into adult Link because I was scared of the zombies outside.

I remember me beating the crap out of the first boss over and over again, just because I felt like it. The dragon bass was also especially fun; I don't think I've ever played another game where you get to knock out fire breathing dragons with a freaking hammer! Genius!

And I remember that damn ocarina, and how I used the theme for the Flinstones cartoon as the scarecrow song. Good times.

I remember...the Shadow Temple was creepy.

And that Ganondorf is one evil mother...(Shut your mouth!) I'm only talkin' 'bout Ganon. (We can dig it.)

the time I died fighting the water temple boss I stared in shock at the screen annoyed as all hell that I died after all this effort but then suddenly that fairy I forgot about revived me and I felt the biggest sense of relief I have felt playing a game.

another time was sneaking through the garudo village oh god that was so annoying and I honestly felt like one of the greatest ninjas on the planet when I conquered it.

So really every moment I succeeded in that game made me feel awesome.

My most fond memory is actually fighting some of the Gerudo chicks while breaking out of prison. I think my most vivid memory is how completely and totally terrified I was going through the Well as Kid Link. That is seriously the most frightening experience I've ever had in a video game, 'cause by that point you know what the Redeads and Hand-things can do to you, but you're also completely gimped as compared to your Adult self.

I always dread going after the Poes in Hyrule Field as an Adult, and that f*ckin' Water Temple.

I hate the Water Temples...
