So, apparently DC Nation(the Cartoon Network block that showed DC comics based series, shorts, and segments) along with it's 2 shows (Young Justice and Green Lantern: the Animated Series) are being postponed until January. Worst of all, they did this without warning. All they did was give us a tweet (https://twitter.com/cartoonnetwork/status/257214071869423617) after showing 2 back-to-back episodes of Dragons: Riders of Berk in place.

Now, I'm an optimistic fool, so I've defended CN for a while. Even while they started having Live-action shows. Even while they've cancelled many of their good shows. But this is where I give up. DC Nation was one of the best things they had recently. And CN just up and decided we're not going to see it until the next year.

Thoughts?

In the same boat. CN screw ups:

Live Action
Chowder
Flapjack
Johnny Test
Cancelling Toonami
Removing the Anime from Adult Swim
Cancelling Sym-bionic Titan(NO TOY REVENUE, WHAT THE FUCK)

Although they have redeemed themselves some what:
Cartoon Planet( all of the classic Cartoon Cartoons)
The return of Toomani
The DC block

But they have shot themselves in the foot by:
The horrible time slot that Toonami has,
now what you mentioned, Postponing the DC block.

I stopped hoping for Cartoon Network and ill just be pleasantly surprised if they do something right.

I'd add "putting the action block[footnote]it's the action block. It's focused around DC shows at the moment, but it's also where they put the Thundercats reboot and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The block was a Friday night block at one point.[/footnote] on Saturday morning" to the list of bad things, but remove Chowder from the list, and also add Regular Show, Adventure Time, and The Amazing World of Gumball to the list of good stuff.

Other stuff on the channel fares from OK (MAD, Dreamworks Dragons) to terrible (Almost Naked Animals, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome) to "oh god, why did they greenlight this?" (The Annoying Orange.)

And yes, I do watch a lot of cartoons. The good ones easily beat the endless reality and cop show re-runs that all the other channels are running, and even the mediocre ones are often better than what they're scheduled against. I pretty much only watch the news because it's all that's on in the early morning and late evening, watching cartoons or the occasional History Channel reality show (notably Pawn Stars) for the rest of the day.

I at least liked Chowder.

Thank you. I hate Chowder and Flapjack with a passion.

I'd add "putting the action block[1] on Saturday morning" to the list of bad things, but remove Chowder from the list, and also add Regular Show, Adventure Time, and The Amazing World of Gumball to the list of good stuff.
They clearly have the potential to keep a steady stream of great shows coming through, and seeing as they dropped most of the Live-Action shows, they are at least keeping pace with the audience slightly.

However, Cartoon Network seems like it is just trying to appeal to the children that used to watch the show, I.E. Teen and near adult shows. They should try to appeal back to the kids, and get a fanbase like they used to. The one they are clinging on to has grown up and likely has already turned its back.

Ehh it's going the Nickelodeon route (few good shows, mostly Live Acton and BS).

A little off-topic, but is the Dragon show worth watching?
It's okay. The plots aren't cliche or anything and the writing is decent. It just wasn't interesting enough to keep me watching. Though I'm probably just bitter about it replacing DC Nation. I guess if you really liked the movie, you'd probably enjoy the series fine.

Cartoon Network should just have Regular Show, Adventure Time, Chowder, Scooby Doo (what's new) and DC stuff play back to back until Toonami comes on every night at 10.

I'm getting tired of having a week inbetween 1 episode of two surprisingly interesting 7 animes, Eureka and Samurai.

I'll defend a lot of CN's shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show but the way the do stuff like this gets on my nerves. They pretty much never announce when a season is ending or when a show is taking a break. Or when a show is coming back!

I still won't care about CN until they bring back the SWAT Kats, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Thundarr the Barbarian.

And Johnny Bravo.

And Dexter's.

You guys forgot Generator Rex and ThunderCats. Even though it seemed like Rex was ending anyways T-T. And you know Symbiotic and Thunder cats, even though on toonami, are not coming back. Thunder Cats has a chance but Symbiotic titan has been gone far too long

If Cartoon Network did that I would actually start watching TV again.

All but Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, are on Boomerang if you have satellite.

It's sad that shows like Generator Rex, Symbionic Titan, and Thundercats, which were quite enjoyable to watch, be replaced by shows that are idiotic.

I wish Toonami would come back and play every night, then at least I would have a reason to actually watch CN more often.

For a little bit, they were showing Slamball on CN. I do really enjoy Slamball, but on CN? It just seemed weird. But who cares? It's Slamball!
