I've been out of the loop for a LONG time with CN so can someone tell me if any of these shows still exist (Even in re-run format)?
Cow and Chicken
Two Stupid Dogs
Powerpuff Girls
Johnny Bravo
Dexter's Lab
Ren and Stimpy
Samurai Jack
Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends

I think they're no longer producing episodes for any of them, but I believe Samurai Jack has a movie that's in development hell.

Those are all long gone, Fosters and powerpuff girls may get the very rare rerun on some kind of occasion but other then that nothing.

I haven't really watched that channel since they decided that they didn't want to air any programs they didn't create and cancelled roughly half of their lineup and removed anime.

Yeesh...That seems pretty grim (Which was ALSO a CN series I loved!!) :/

In the same boat. CN screw ups:

Live Action
Chowder
Flapjack
Johnny Test
Cancelling Toonami
Removing the Anime from Adult Swim
Cancelling Sym-bionic Titan(NO TOY REVENUE, WHAT THE FUCK)

Although they have redeemed themselves some what:
Cartoon Planet( all of the classic Cartoon Cartoons)
The return of Toomani
The DC block

But they have shot themselves in the foot by:
The horrible time slot that Toonami has,
now what you mentioned, Postponing the DC block.

I stopped hoping for Cartoon Network and ill just be pleasantly surprised if they do something right.
You forgot:

Screw ups:
Canceling MegasXLR and Samurai Jack

Redemption:
Regular Show (I love this show) and Adventure time (I personally don't like it but I don't have a problem with it)

If you like the movie, you'll like the show.
I love the movie to death but I find it hilarious that they didn't even ATTEMPT to get someone similar to Gerard Butler's voice. (He plays Stoic in the movie)

I too is annoying with this sudden annoucement especially when I/ we have been waiting for new Young Justice for bloody ages!! I just hate that work schedule by only making half of it then take a break to make the rest!

While I do not know about next week but I do know that you can watch last week episodes of Young Justice and Green Lantern despite it wasn't aired last week (they were online on Itune).

I don't think I'd have as big of a problem with Adventure Time if it wasn't adding to the "LET'S BE TOTALLY RANDOM TEENAGERS, MATH" element. It also has that way that manages to seep into (just about) EVERY orifice that Ponies do on any art sites. It was similar with the Total Drama series - I saw the art EVERYWHERE and it got a little exhausting after awhile. When the show's good, it's GOOD, but when people abuse it (like with every other show), it gets annoying.

At least Cartoon Planet manages to weasel in(no pun intended) one Powerpuff Girls for every eighteen I Am Weasel/Cow and Chicken episodes.

They really need to bring Foster's back. And season one of Chowder. I miss Foster's. I remember when CN would play regular shows on the week then, like, on Sunday or something, they'd play a movie. THOSE were good times. They should take, like, Tuesday and only play shows that don't come on anymore otherwise. And put Toonami on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights instead of all eight kabillion reruns of crappy Adult Swim shows.

Oh come on Chowder was great. Heck I thought Schnitzel was the black guy of the show but they made him say "Radda Radda" because If he spoke his mind....

Honestly CN failed around 2004 when start killing off good shows, and putting Anime on death slot hours so the license for the show expire(Showing the last season of Yu-Yu Hakusho at 5:30 on Saturday morning EST?!)(having the money to fund a 3rd Season of The Big O but backed down)don't get me wrong Dexter's Lab and PPG could gone another season before it was time for them to leave and Canceling Sym-Biotic Titan because there was no chance to capitalize on merchandise? What they thought they was not going to make money of DVD and possible video game sales?

All in all CN is like that friend who had growing up that changed for the worse when you two started to grow up and now he's hitting the bottle like clockwork and you are wondering should you help out or make him drink himself to nonexistence.

Only very rarely on Fridays do some of them show up

I see a few Cow and Chickens, Johnny Bravo, Fosters and Dexter's Lab every now and again.

That's one of the very few things they did right, giving a glimpse back into what they had.

Quick question though, would you rather have most of these series stay as they are in our memories, or have them take another crack at it, potentially screwing it up again?

I'd rather give them a chance, because at least then there IS a chance, and if it fails we can blame it on the new series.

Except for what they did to Ben 10. That would be a very very bad example.

I liked Chowder and Flapjack :(

But yeah, I completely agree with everything else (I hate MAD with a burning passion).

CN Latin America is in a very similar situation, we don't have Adult Swim at all, they used to air it in the weekends at night and I freaking loved it, now they don't.

Later, CN Latin America used to air OUR version of Dragon Ball Z (even GT for christ sake!), our version is the unrated japanese version, just dubbed in spanish (with great voice actors mind you), now, they just air the shitty and censored DBZ Kai version.

Then SymBionic Titan... that series had so much potential... just like Samurai Jack... *sniff* excuse me... this is way too much... at least we still have Adventure Time and Regular Show, that has to count for something, right?... right?... :(

Agreed, Children's TV channels have been going downhill lately, what with the emphasis on crappy cartoons and live-action bullshit. Too many good shows have been cancelled and replaced with... crap!

All of these shows are on Boomerang. The main reason they are not being aired on Cartoon Network is simple. It is not a nostalgia focused network, like Boomerang is.

The reason why cartoon network is not airing those shows is because the audience changed when you were not looking. This younger audience expects something different from their cartoons than we did. It does not make them better or worse, just different.

I'm sorry that cartoon network changed content without your permission, but accept it and move on with your life.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing potential reboots or continuations of a lot of these series'. We've already seen a lot of good reboots and re-imaging of various animated series' from times past. Also, new cartoons seem to be catching onto (What I call) the "Brony" effect. Basically that the majority of people watching a lot of these networks are the Generation Y demographic growing up and still wishing for their nostalgia. You can see this very much in Disney Channel's "Gravity Falls" with it's constant homages and references to 90's pop culture. This era could be a great time for animators, story writers, and artists to successfully cater to both their current aged demographic and the growing number of Generation Y babies that have grown up but still LOVE cartoons (I'm one of them!)

Uhhh...I never said that they changed it without my permission, I was just asking if they still played those programs, as they used to be the staple of Cartoon Network.

Was that last line referring to me? Because I'm pissed for CN pulling things for no good reason. I don't feel entitled, I just don't understand why it has to mess with us like that.

It's a little anvilicious at times, but I enjoy it.

Except for every time Hiccup opens his fat mouth, because they replaced his movie voice actor with someone awful.

CN jumped the shark when they became the 8-Hour Scooby Doo Marathon Every Goddamn Day network.

They're not that anymore, but still...
I thought that was around back when people still liked Cartoon Network. You know surprisingly, they still play Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes in the morning.
