Eternal Darkness and Skies Of Arcadia
These. All of these.

I'll sit down to play STALKER, do one quest, and.. well... one thing leads to another.
Next thing I know, I'm tromping through the Zone, staving off death at the hands of super mutants and other whatnot. There's a save key, sure, but I take it as a challenge from the Zone - Challenge accepted.

Eternal Darkness is a different story. I'll see an incredible sanity effect, like, for example, when your memory card corrupts, or the machine bricks. I'm hooked from there.

Yes, I have to limit myself from playing Empire Total War because I know I'm just going to get sucked in for hours.
I saw that in the shop for £20 on friday. Is it any good? I might buy it after my exams.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I've done that before. Last time I think was when I first started WoW, I pretty much started a new character and finished the entirety of Teldrassil in one night. mind you there was a lot of procrastination, so it took quite some time.

Total War when i'm on the verge of putting the smack down on some Empire. Civ 4 when I ALMOST have the tech needed to wipe out that upstart city on my borders. Space Empire V when I have my massive fleet of Destroyers and Carriers hovering near some small sheyites home star system. Hell, even Sword of the Stars when I have Homefleet prepared to withstand that 70 Hiver ship fleet.
RTSes just blow my mind and time away like dust in the wind.

On LANs I do it on purpose, only happened once without me noticing. And the game in question was Maplestory... I was young and foolish :/

I often have to go to bed when I hear my dad getting up. If he were to catch me, he wouldn't be happy. The problem is, I love to be awake at night, no matter what I'm doing, because it's the only time when I know no-one else will interrupt me. Unless I start making fireworks or something like that.

My curses are Tales of Vesperia and Saints Row 2.
Me and a friend teamed up on Vesperia when I first got it. We started playing few hours after it was delivered in my mail so from about 3PM to well... 3PM...

Saints Row 2 got that effect too, but I usually manage to tear myself away from the screen around 4am, but that's hard.

My newest curse is Monster Hunter. Played it last night, I had played it before I went to eat and after dinner I watched a few movies and I got back to the game at 2am. I was just going to save then go to sleep since it was late, but I ended up playing for almost 2 hours. Not much compared to either Vesperia or Saints Row 2, but I was right next to the save when I started.

It was about 5 years ago, tbh and the culprits were Eternal Darkness and Skies Of Arcadia (I played those games far too much)
I do play for too many hours on ME and ME2 but have a one year old baby so no playing through the night for me :)
That said I stayed up til 5.30 on Thurs/Fri watching the general election and got up at 7.30 before realising I am too old to get by on 2 hours sleep ;-)
Skies of Arcadia is a dangerous game... I wish I could play that again :(.

Recently, WoW, Saints Row 2, FFXI, ...lets see...some others I can't think of offhand.

What's really annoying is trying to get to sleep when those birds are chirping right outside your bedroom window. In fact, now that I think about it, every bed in my house is next to a window. =(

I have to reply to the topic title, not the post itself. I've thought that I've stayed up much longer than I actually have when I've heard birds chirping. I'll have that "Oh crap, the sun's coming up already, and six hours passed without me even noticing?" reaction, and then I'll look at the clock and it's only 2, not 6. I think the birds in the tree outside my window are defective, because at some point a few years ago they started randomly chirping at pretty much any time of the day, even when it's pitch black out.

As with any WoW nerd - World of Warcraft devoured my sleep schedule. It went approximately like this:

*glances at clock, sees 10:00 or so*
'Alright, I'll go to bed at midnight'
*10 minutes later*
'Is that fucking sunlight? *clock says 10:10*'
*realizes it's 10AM*
'What day is it?'

Turns out I had been playing for over 48 hours straight, no food, the only fluid was a can of pop I apparently nursed over a day, no standing. Once it hit me I hadn't eaten and had barely drank, I felt absolutely awful. After 2 hot pockets and a glass of water, I was fine.

It was after that realization that I decided to quit WoW...for a while.

I just did this! When the Halo: Reach Beta was opened, it was about 3 am here in Australia. I downloaded and expected to play a couple of games and then hit the hay.

The time I eventually went to bed that day: about 5 pm.

Surprisingly, Trine. I was at my brothers place, and he had some guests over, none of which I knew. So, I decided, while hiding, to buckle down and complete Trine. And I did. It was 5:30~ when I was done, and then I played some tf2 til everyone woke up :D.

I belive it was Uncharted 2. Played it from the moment I got it until you get to that monastery in the snow area. I stopped there because I died so god damn many times...! I think the time was around 04:00 AM when I stopped.
