Eh, well depending on what day of the week it falls on, I'll either play games and generally do nothing(since I've never had a Valentine ever), or I'll be working. Woohoo.

So who else is planning to piss away valentines day playing video games or some other activity that will hopefully make you forget this wretched day?

Don't get me wrong, Valentines day is great, if you have someone. For me and a lot of people it seems impossible to find someone. I'm only 21 so I'll live, but for people in their 30s and 40s that have never found someone, its unforgivable. Its like a big slap in the face. I think Valentines day should be something much more private between the couples.

Whos with me?
Valentines day only piss on you if you let it.
Most times in my life, I haven't let it at all because I have only viewed it as a normal day.

However, this year I am quite possible gonna let it make me feel miserable ;<
why the sudden change?

Or I could just go about my day normally and not be all "I'M GOING TO PLAY VIDEO-GAMES AND STAY INSIDE TO PISS IN THE FACE OF CORPORATE FASCISTS CORPORATISING EMOTION"
What if that is how I normally spend my day?

Oh that's good.

Fuck Valentines day. Couples start to act so sweet and are generally being smug douches. Never in my relationships did I act so disgustingly cute. Hell I never used the term "my baby" (in Greece every couple and their dogs use this term).

Maybe that's why I've never had a long term relationship. Hmmm...

What day? Oh right, that utterly pointless consumerist holiday that I have no intention of celebrating, and have no pressing desire to acknowledge.

I guess I'll do what I do every year. Go to work, eat some food, maybe go to the gym.

I'm going to be busy at school all day anyway, so I'm not too bothered. I mean, you feel less lonely if you're in school uniform, for some reason. It's like you almost have a legitimate reason to be single - you're studying and you're still a kid. I look younger in my uniform. Oh well. If I get very disgruntled about all the PDA then I'll just go home and reread the Skip Beat! arc about Mogami Kyoko's incredibly hatred for Valentine's Day. And laugh.

I piss away EVERY day with video games. It's no special day to me.

I don't have anyone to celebrate with currently...but Valentine's day IS a private thing between couples for the most part. Are people trying to forcibly include you in their celebrations? Are obnoxious couples sitting down at your dinner table? Are you being forced to deliver flowers for someone? At worst, you're seeing people showing affection in public, which is very certainly their right. Stay home if you have some strange inability to ignore it. And if Valentine's day is a slap in the face to you because you don't have anyone to spend it with, it might be time to reconsider the priorities in your life.

There's a lot more to life than Valentine's day or relationships in general. Sure they're nice to participate in in a lot of cases, but you shouldn't let a lack of either in your life become something that actually bothers you.

Yeah... Everyone will make their excuses- "Oh, I hate Valentines day. It is so commercialized.", "I'm to busy to hold a relationship.", "I'm just not looking into a relationship right now.", or the classic "Valentines day is gay anyway." for each one will be said with a grain of salt and a tear rolling down your cheek.

It all really comes down to the constantly asked questions you give yourself. Like "Am I just that ugly?", "Am I just to fat?", or are you just not trying hard enough?

But no matter the question or answer. You always have an excuse.

Pfff... Fuck it. Valentines day is gay anyway...

Should have tried this year.

Yep, pretty much this...
18[sup]th[/sup] consecutive year alone.
Go me! *cries in corner*

OT: I'm gonna roll out the old 'it's all soooo corporate now' which means businesses don't want couples to be private and subtle, they want them to buy as much garish, pink stuff as possible and try and be outside as much as possible in order do show the world that they are lovin' V-Day.

Or you could just go out for a quiet, expensive nice meal, that's the best of both worlds.

I used to play guitar for a death metal band, we just went our separate ways eventually, but we had a 3 year streak of an annual Anti-Valentines Day show, and it was sort of common knowledge that everyone there was single (couples could go too) and it wasn't frowned upon to just ask someone to hook up. I'm usually not that type of guy but I had a girl come on to me after we performed (we were just before the headliners) and I gotta say, that event made it so worth while to be single each year. I think they stopped having it because most of the bands split up. A shame man...

I don't like Valentines day very much.

But my girlfriend will be pleased with roses and chocolate, so that she will get.

Meh.

As always, spending it alone, probably, since my boyfriend is away at Uni.
You'd think having a boyfriend would make me more likley not to be alone, but it's just made me more cynical about v-day. I have plenty of other days to spend with him, eating pizza, discussing D&D, watching Top Gear and fucking. That's in order of importance. Descending order.

Probably give him a quick "yay, valentines, what a crock of shit, but love you anyway" on the day.

See that's where I see problems, I would be much more surprised and happy about getting roses any other day of the year simply because he wanted to do something nice for me, not just what he is expected to do.

When I first saw this thread I was like "V-day [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-day]? As in Victory-day, the one used in the WW2 era? None of them is coming up quite yet?" Then I read the OP and went "ooooohhh..."

Anyhow, on topic! I'm probably just gonna send my valentine an e-card/sms/mms or something, as we both agreed that the 12th is a better day to spend together (seeing how the 12th is a Saturday and the 14th a Monday).
