Moonlight hitting the sea really does it for me, at night when the seas all black obviously.

Definitely waterfalls.

Any waterfall'll do, as long as it's tall.

Stare into it, it's like staring into your own soul.

Or.....

Something...

End of discussion, love, without a doubt wins, it's even more precious because it's something you can only really feel to understand it, not just observe it.

I live in a very small town which sits in the middle of a range of hills. To arrive here, you have to come from uphill, and the view as you are approaching the town is just gorgeous, especially as the sun is setting or under a full moon. I've been living here for thirty years (well, ten of those were spent living elsewhere, but my parents have always lived here and I would always come back to visit), and I still can't get tired of the view.

You know what, next time I have a chance, I'll take a picture and post here. And I would love to see some of the scenery described in the above posts as well...

As far as games go, Shadow of the Colossus is the only truly beautiful game I've ever played, but then again I haven't played Okami yet, which I heard was quite pretty.

With music (And prepare for shitty taste in music here) any soft, melodic song will win me over with tears...even certain songs by Coldplay and the Fray :(. But as far as good music that is beautiful goes, The Arcade Fire makes a lot of lovely songs.

As for movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (My third favorite film of all time) is absolutely beautiful both in terms of the visual style and in terms of the plot.

For places, the beach with a sunset seems to get to me for some odd reason. *Sniff* Damnit I'm crying now! I'VE BEEN FOILED BY THE POWER OF LOOOVE!

it's not a claim. it is an opinion, with all its subjective merits.
There were no uncertain terms, so it doesn't read as though you're putting forth an opinion, it reads as though you're stating a fact.

Anyway, you didn't contribute anything to the thread, you just dumped on it. That's the only reason I called you out.
call me out all you want, see if it changes anything. if it was a fact or claim, i would have supplied proof. i see that's not the norm around here, but what can you expect from people interested in other people's opinions?
So you will put forth an opinion, but you don't care to hear anyone elses? You'd rather talk at people than to them? Are you some kind of sociopath?

It's a forum...opinion sharing is pretty much all that exists here.

Well probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard is this.

Other things I find beautiful would be a new born lamb that I have just lambed myself, and the first taste from a new bottle of Scottish whiskey (I have just opened one as it happens and am drinking it now).

how can you talk at people? sounds like nonsense to me.

i'd rather talk to people and chance them to hear it, much like the voyager may chance interception by an alien civilization. like i told the other guy: there are diamonds in the rough. carry on with your meaningless duties here, none of my posts were obviously meant for you.

i see that from this site. don't for a second think that all forums are alike, and don't think you aren't the exception to the rule.

Berlin is perhaps the most beautiful place I have ever been. I was walking through an area of Schoneberg and it was a bright day but quite cold. Leaves littered the group along the park and the sun shined brightly over the buildings. Picturesque is about right

ah yes, the subjective beauty of a universe filled with atoms in vast and different multitudes.

i keep wondering why people ask for the opinion of others here, as if they mattered.
Is it so different to think that some people actually care about things? I care about the beauty of this place, since i love it.
some strong words you use there. i'd say i care about many things, some relevant to others, others not. the difference is that i don't care what others think about those things; and honestly, neither should you.

I've visited Ronda, apart from making me feel a little light headed, I was also struck by it's beauty.

Also, this.
My Ma an and Dad went there too. Without me. I was so jealous when they showed me the holiday pictures :(

I find where I live to be beautiful. I know it doesn't look like much, but I love the views I get from my house and our fields.

Also, our snow can be lovely :D

And most things by Pink Floyd.

You're right, you're casting pearls to swine who fail to distinguish themselves from "the rough". I'm sorry that I lack the capacity to truely perceive how insightful your original post really was... Or perhaps it's my wisdom that is flying straight over your head...and we're back on opinion, aren't we?

Your condescending tone is distasteful. Especially considering how inconsequential and vacuous what you are saying actually is.

Yeh, Ronda was pretty cool. These pictures are beautiful, where is this? You can't take big outdoor pictures without getting a motorway or Tesco's in it somewhere. I'm quite jealous.

Thanks, the pics are all taken within about 2 miles of my house, in Shropshire [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shropshire], England. It's one of the most rural places in the country, so the views are great :D

The 3rd photo is taken from the top of the hill that you can see in the distance on the 1st picture, which was taken about 800 yards from my house, and like I said, the others are all taken nearby :)

And dont be too jealous haha, it's lovely to see all the hills and trees and such but when it comes to getting shopping, going to work, going out, or practically anything that doesn't involve farming, hiking or shooting/hunting then theres not much to do at all :p

The entire world is pretty fucking awesome.

That gravity is such a weak force is pretty fucking awesome. Anywhere near as strong as the other forces and life would never have evolved.

personaly i think music is one of the most beautiful thing we have, specifically the variety of music, techno to psy-trance to country to rap, its amazing
