My hometown is Stoke-on-Trent. While I don't think this being the birthplace of Robbie Williams is laudible, it was also home to Reginald Joseph Mitchell, creator of the Spitfire.

We've got a statue of a wolfhound: http://www.antrimtown.co.uk/Antrim%20Castles%20Wolf%20Hound.htm
I don't mean to sound rude but that it's the most hilarious statue I've ever seen. Why does it look so silly?
Supposedly it has a wolfhound encased in it so maybe that's why it looks so out of proportion. Could've just been a bad sculpter.
Surely if it had a hound encased in it then it would be the proper shape. I'm thinking the bad sculptor idea is probably right.

Doc Walker, the one and only woman to receive the Medal of Honor. She's already been somewhat immortalized as a mural on the side of the building I work at.

Before that painting, I didn't think anything could class up a bookstore.

Yeh I'm leaning towards that one myself. There is the possibility that the hound is in the main body of the statue rather than filling the neck and head area as well. But it still looks a bit weird.

Well, apart from Sir Humphrey Davy who no one will ever of heard of I think a staue of a pirate shooting up would represent where I live perfectly.

New York has pretty much everything awesome ever.
This.

And if we had to make a statue out of somebody here... I know he wasn't born here, but Henrik Lundqvist is the most amazing man in NYC right now.

You're forgetting someone. Someone who battles gods.

My hometown was where Chris Farley's last movie "Almost Heroes" was filmed, so I believe a statue of Farley is in order.

Snow...lots of snow... we actually beat our own record for coldest city in america, oh and a story about how a gay man was brutally murdered, leading to years of stereotypes, gay marches, protest, riots and an independent movie documentary.
