CURSE YOU TURBINE SUPPORTERS >.<

steam shoulda won :(

haha :)
Maybe if they had treated their customers like Turbine does, they might've won.
What does Turbine do that's better (In treating their customers)? I've had the same experience with both companies in how they treat me. (Which was excellent)

The difference is, I prefer my Half Life and Team Fortress to LoTRO.
There's a big difference in comparing Steam to Turbine in customer service. Turbine is a tiny company with a lot of ambition, and are able to talk to customers individually in order to hone there pre-existing products. Steam make some of the biggest franchises in the video game world, where they lock themselves in there rooms and polish unto perfection, and run a service that is pretty much synonymous with non-MMO (And even some MMOs) PC games. If they wanted to deal with customers one one one like that, they would have to hire...Nebraska. Yelling at one company for not being like the other is like Yelling at Michael Phelps for being bad at Football: Maybe its true, but that's not there thing, they do something else, and are fantastic at it.

I think its so weird that people go against Turbine for beating Valve: I mean, a true Valve fan would have voted for Turbine in the final round, so you can argue that Valve took the silver. Valve got shafted by the Anti-Turbine folks. Ah well, its all in good fun.

Also, welcome to all you new Turbine folks. I joined a year ago to vote for Turbine myself...at least, against everyone except Valve. I do love me some DDO, but Valve is just to ridiculously cool. I think you will find that very quickly, everyone forgets about the competition, and just talks to you normally. But if you do run into problems, remember that the entire escapist staff is on your side, and loving your contribution, and the people who are upset at Turbine are, quite frankly, an embarrassment to the Escapist staff (As evident by the eventually not-so-subtle warnings during the competition).

I have been a lurker on these forums since MM '08, when I came here to support Turbine then. The vitriol on these forums during MM this year actually drew me out enough to post a bit. I will continue to lurk, because once a great while I will read something that will peak my interest on a game I haven't tried yet, or I will see something interesting.

Evidently one is not a member of the escapist community if one only reads what people say. So in order for my opinion to count as an escapist member on following polls, at least to peers within the community, I must have a semi-respectable post count. I shall endeavor to make it so over the next year.

So wait, because I like Valve, I should have voted for Turbine because I'm a "true Valve fan"? It doesn't even matter that I liked Bioware's games more and thought they were the overall better developer? If I'm a true Valve fan, I must vote for Turbine? I don't hate Turbine, I find them to be a good developer, but I thought Bioware was better. I voted for Turbine in all their match-ups except Valve and Bioware I believe, because I thought those two were the better developers.

Yes, lack of an avatar does make it harder to remember someone.[/quote]

I plan on staying and being active. It was never really a question. If I like a website I'll return to it and if I don't I won't.

I'm referring to people who voted against Turbine based purely on revenge for beating Valve. That doesn't make sense, because Valve gets better placing if Turbine won. If you preferred Bioware, I can't argue with that. Its all just a popularity contest, and its all in good fun.

I was never a part of the March Madness thing, but are Turbine the people who publish those sad MMORPG games? They won?? Oh well.

Welcome all Turbine supporters who are not trolling :)
