Escapists, correct me if I'm wrong but this time last week the forums were full of Skyrim threads. To be honest, they still are.
But as we all know, it's Skyward Sword release day which was probably just as highly anticipated. So where's the Zelda threads. Sure it's still early days yet but just... what?
Sorry if you think it's a dumb question but hey, I'm entitled to express my opinion.

Might have helped if you had mentioned the lack of threads in your title.

IIRC, Skyrim threads flooded the forum for some time before it came out, but I wasn't really paying too much attention.

Skyrim: Grand PR campaign
Zelda: err.. It was coming out this week?

So yeah.. Skyrim is like a big blob of PR Blocking out the sky, where the sword is not pointing towards the sky quite as brightly. It got devoured.

Zelda is generally more linear and to the point.
This means there is less to discuss or debate about.

I don't mean it's better or worse, it just means that there will be less questions, topics or advise threads. Because of the different nature of the game.

Consider that the GAME shop over here had actually held a midnight release for LoZ: Skyward Sword (and three other games) last night, no one turn up for the midnight release unlike Skyrim were load of people show up for that.
That pretty much speak for itself and before you ask yes I bought the game today but I haven't play it just yet.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Th Wii sold many, but who actually plays with them. I for one do not have a Wii but two gaming devices that will play Skyrim

People need to play the game before they can offer commentary on it. Since the game isn't even out yet, that has proven a bit difficult. And even when it comes out, people are going to need a few hours to start playing it. I mean, what are they going to do before they play it for a while? Post a thread about the box art?

Its on the Wii, and most people I know completely ignore their Wii, if they even have one. Skyrim came out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 - the three biggest gaming platforms. It is only natural that far more people would have played it than would have played Zelda, and far more would likely have thought about getting it than Zelda; I for one don't touch anything that comes out unless there's a PC version - I'm not wasting 300 odd $ on a PS3 or Xbox 360, and the Wii is... not my style.

The mass of Skyrim threads started well before the game was out.

Plus the forum seems pretty quiet right now anyway, everyone is too busy playing Skyrim, BF3, or MW3.

Pretty much this. The Wii has, in the past 3 or so years, slid further and further from relevancy in the core gaming community. From the lack of localization of key titles (Project Rainfall, anyone?), to the refusal to drop prices on specific games (such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl), Nintendo of America (and to lesser extent Nintendo of Europe) has steadily disinfranchised the core gaming demographic.

A lot of the core gaming audience never bought a Wii in the first place, and plenty that gave it a chance have probably sold it or traded it in at this point. And since most Wii owners are interested in things like Wii Sports and other casual games, the only people who will get really excited about Skyward Sword are in the niche of devoted Nintendo/Zelda fans/fanboys.

I wouldn't be suprised if this disinfranchisement hurts Skyward Sword's success. Sure it will be successful, but I'll bet that it won't be as successful as NoA is hoping.

As opposed to all the other answers my answer to your question is:
Because no one here appears to know what a good game looks like!!

Well no but, Zelda isn't out yet, There's been a huge hype about Skyrim for the past year and then there's the "I don't like nintendo because xbox and ps3 are soooo much better gaming devices" attitude.
I saw some answers of people saying "because it's a wii game", that's the worst answer ever, I bet they never played a wii and think of themselves as "hardcore gamers which the wii don't have..." Yeah right -.-.

I haven't played skyrim, most likely it's good. But I am really waiting for Zelda and based on the rewievs I have a lot to expect from this new title.
