There was one game that I can't remember. You start off in a castle and once you leave, you wander around the map, which is 2d, and you fight enemies that are already visible on the map.

To fight the enemies, you create your armies by "buying" (i don't actually remember the correct way it occurred) troops and you use these to fight other creatures.

You have a small ship and sail around, but I don't remember the purpose of the game whatsoever. I do remember that there were dragons, elves, zombies, fairies, and other types of beings that could be recruited into your army. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm so excited that I found this site. Theres a very (well a few) old PC game that I can't remember for the life of me, but I absolutely loved. I believe it was back in the MS DOS days.

So there was a story mode, and a VS mode. The game takes place in space, with different races and each race has different ships. Each ship has a normal shoot, and it has a special weapon and I believe different crew sizes. I can't remember much other than a few of the ships and races. In the VS mode each player would pick a few ships before facing off. When one of your died you'd get another, the first person to kill the others ships won.

There was one ship that was all black, the race were weird Spider looking things. Its normal gun shot out black rotating blades that would freeze on the screen. Its special was a ring of fire that would expand out from the ship.

There was a really quirky race that used to commit suicide. I dont' remember what they looked like, but i do remember the ship was very small, fast, with a terrible gun. The only real thing you could do is click special three times which would make the ship self destruct.

The human ship had a homing missle it would fire. I dont' remember if that was its special or regular weapon, thats all I can remember it being able to do.

There was a race that were women, and their special was to get crew members from your ship to leave to join their ship.

There really were a lot more than that, but thats all that I can remember. If anyone else remembers this game, please oh please let me know.
Hmm, maybe one of the Star Control games? I never played them myself, but I've heard a lot about it from fans. There was a race of spider-like aliens in that called the Ilwrath, and a race of ladies called the Syreen. Each race had different ships with different abilities, and Wikipedia says that the Shofixti had scout ships with a self-destruct device, and human ships had guided missiles.

OK, so this game is driving me crazy trying to think of it... I believe it was a DOS game (possibly part of a game pack) in the early/mid 1990s. It was a falling piece puzzle game like tetris, but instead of pieces, bombs or grenades fell. You had to stack them to get their fuse paths to line up, and then drop a grenade pin on a fuse path to blow them all up. Any help on what the game was called or where I could find it?

Okay, so I once had a race game. I think they made it after 2000, it was sometimes in buggy`s. You also had like sand maps, and also "space" maps. I`m really searching for it a long long time already... I really hope someone can help me with this race game. It was like a childgame, I spent all my childhood on it. It was a PC Game, not really good graphics but for that time they were okay. Pleasee help <3 !

I remember when I was like seven or eight, 1997-1998 my dad was playing a game on the computer were you are a detective of sorts and you had to figure out who killed this lady, it was a game that used real actors and you just picked what you wanted to say or where you wanted to go. I remember one of the suspects always seemed really suspicious and whenever you went to question him he'd be doing something that involved him having a possible weapon. One time he was cutting lettuce with a knife. Eventually we were pretty sure it was him so we did the option to arrest him and the video was of the character telling him he was under arrest, the guy was digging a hole in his backyard and just hit the detective in the face with it and it was game over, I think my dad stopped playing after that. Anyway if someone actually knows what that game is, I'd love to know!

I'm not sure if someone else replied to your question, but I think the game you are looking for is called The Magic Death: Virtual Murder 2.
That's not it but you put me on the right track! I was able to find it by looking for similar games, it is Santa Fe Mysteries: The Elk Moon Murder. It looks like it's really bad, haha. I'm amazed someone actually took the time to answer that since I posted it in like 2011 but I was still curious so thanks for the help!

Hi, the game i'm trying to remember is a 3D chess pc game. I only remember it was based on angels and demons, or at least there was the option to play that theme. It kinda looks like Battle vs Chess, like the pieces would move and that, and when you killed another piece there would be like a little ''battle'' between both. Any ideas? T_T thanks!

Hello,
I have two that have been bugging me for a very long time:
the first is a motorcycle racing game, it was cartoon-y. And I remember you could kick and punch the other racers...
And the other one was a very cartoon-y game with a character whose name i remember as Dizzy... he had weird blonde hair. The game had different kinds of mini-games like racing in weird cars, also a 2d scroller... it is a very old game...

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Thank you so much Krall!! It was Star Control 2!!!

You just made my day :) I really appreciate it. You have no clue how long I've been wanting to remember the name of it. You just reopened part of my childhood.

This one mecha game where you go down linear corridors and kill stuff, it's in a snowy/remote planet setting, and it eas really hard. It was for the Play Station, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. You walked down these corridors and areas in a suit, FPS mode and you shot machines and sometimes monsters.
Could it possibly be "Kileak: The DNA Imperative"?

Sounds quite like "King's Bounty". It's an old DOS game that I actually played again recently. Still very fun!

Bear Bovver?

Almost sounds like the 'Aladdin', but that was a bit after that.

Hi everyone.

I have been having trouble thinking of this game I used to play as a child back in the mid-late 90's. It was a PC game that was part of those 1000 game disc things, but basically you controlled a bunch of small little villagers (I believe they were blue) and you built your own little village and built a castle. Eventually you can upgrade the castle and stuff, and the weather changed from summery to snowing. I know the game isn't populus. Sorry if the description is kind of vague, but hopefully someone will remember this game! It's killing me inside not knowing what it is.

Thanks!

Ok there was this game i use to play all the time on my brothers computer about a decade ago and i think it was a demo. So u were this hovering loooking ship that hoovered over a pyramid looking structure and this structure helped you regain health and regain points to be able to create your Tanks, Jets , Helicopters and other vehicles i believe. you were able to move your ship around but moved slow and were able to shoot with your ship also. In the game you were battling another hovering ship that was able to do the same tihng as you and basically you build your vehicles and send them to attack the other base to destroy it and he would try to do the same. you were able to control personally any vehicle you made and shoot with it when attacking the other enemy, when attacking the other you usually sent out a wave of your vehichles. when other opponents sent their wave of vehicles your vehichles automatically attacke back to defend. i remember when using a small map and you were always the blue icons and the enemies were yellow and red. In one of the maps i remember that you played againg both opponents which one was a yellow team and the other red and i remember the map been at night and there was tall buildings. This is all i remember

Ok, here's my game. It was not a terribly popular game at the time and I remember VERY little of it, so this is kind of a long shot. But a thread like this is probably my best bet!

Gameplay was MYST-like first-person, except instead of using pre-rendered scenes it used actual photographic imagery. It also used overlaid video to show movement in some scenes. You were able to turn and look around in 90 degree increments, again, much like MYST.

It was released in the 90's, probably 94-98, but I don't know precisely. It was definitely pre-2000, and I'm pretty confident it was post-MYST. Like MYST, it was one of those games where you were kind of dropped into a world and left to figure out what the game was about from there. I recall the game being very proud of its photo-realistic graphics. It was not a console game, it was either for Mac or PC - I had both during some of that time, and I'm not sure which I played it on.

There are only two parts of actual game play that I recall, and I believe both are fairly early in the game, but I'm not certain of that.

1) walking up (or perhaps down?) a hill along a dirt path. There were few or no trees, just grass on either side. It was a sunny day and everything was bright. Lots of nature, few or no man-made objects.

2) later on, there was a maze type puzzle. I want to say it was underground, but it was in stark contrast to the outdoor part. Everything was metal and I think it was some kind of transportation system, like a subway, but in a grid layout. (Thus, the maze)

I was a big fan of MYST et al and Journeyman Project, but I know it's not part of the MYST series, and after a bunch of googling I'm pretty sure it wasn't Journeyman Project either.

Ok, not a lot to go on, I know. But perhaps with some luck, nostalgia will be satisfied. :) Feel free to ask clarifying questions. I'm unlikely to remember more, but you might spark a memory I can't recall now.

This sounds a little like Herzog Zwei for the Sega Genesis, but that is more 1990-era than early 2000's, and it was for Sega not a computer. But perhaps that will get you on the right track at least...

I want to find a turn based computer game. It was against the computer

- you started with one town
- other than a small area the map was blacked out
- you had to build infantry or tanks and take over other towns
- you could also build transports (for 6 infantry or 2 tanks), subs, battleships, bombers, fighters, frigates ....
- the map was revealed as you moved around
- there was both water and land
- the enemy was hidden unless they were within sight of your forces
- fight to expand
- towns were used to build the different military units; bigger units took longer

Would love to play this again but can't remember the name.
Thanks for any help.
When were you playing this and on what platform? If we're talking REALLY old school and Macintosh, it could be Strategic Conquest. That game is pretty close to that description (except for the transport capacity) and dates all the way back to 1984, but was most recently updated in 1998, according to wikipedia.
