I am re-posting this as I still haven't managed to figure out which game is haunting my memory.

The game came on an early 2000's European PC game magazine demo disc. It could have been PCGamer, PCZone or a Finnish PC game magazine.

What I remember is something like this:

You start out in a nomadic camp in a desert. The game is either an action-adventure or an RPG (possibly a hybrid). You (a male protagonist, I believe) go around the camp talking to people and completing tasks. It has a fantasy/sci-fi like setting. You are preparing to leave the camp for some reason. One of the tasks involves getting a rudimentary weapon (a sword or a stick?). Once you have left the camp and entered the desert, the demo ends. It is a 3D game, and I *think* it's in the third-person. You can jump. I remember some strange, alien animals (although the people in the camp were all human as was the protagonist). Everything was a very tan brown, "desert" colour. The buildings looked like brown stone huts or tents.
This is all I can remember. I'm not even sure how much of it is accurate, and how much of it my mind has made up over the years.
I remember being impressed by the "freedom" it offered and the graphics.
I was easily impressed back then.

It is not Outcast, or Heavy Metal FAKK 2 (as some people have suggested).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I may also have a surprise gift for the person that manages to find the game for me? ;)
Never played it, but the desert theme might point to Severance: Blade Of Darkness [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severance:_Blade_of_Darkness]. That was the first game featuring blood realistically running down stairs if I remember correctly ;)

The game I'm looking for was some kind of adventure RPG for windows 95 or possibly 98. You started by building a party from a few different typical classes (warrior, wizard, amazon, etc.) and assigning points to various stats. When you explored on the overworld, the game seemed to be in first person (in 3D), but whenever you were attacked your party would appear in front of you and fight the monster (in 2D). Fighting was difficult to control, the monsters were usually huge and the game was very difficult. I remember that it was on my computer when I first got it. Any ideas?
Could be Drakkhen [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakkhen]. There's a rather nice video from the Until We Win series by LordKat about it. [http://www.lordkat.com/until-we-win?page=1]
Thank you for the helpful suggestion! Unfortunately, it wasn't the game I was looking for... I wish I could find the original demo disc I played this game on (but I believe my parents have disposed of that years ago). Sometimes I wonder whether my young mind made up half the details, as no one so far has been able to name the game...
Nevertheless, I appreciate your answer :). I do hope that I manage to find the name of this "mystery" game someday.

My offer still stands, if anyone can find the right game for me, I am willing to gift a Steam/GG game in return (from a list of giftable games I currently own).
Was it URU?

Hi everyone, I thought I'd give this a try since the search is driving me insane.

Key points:
Released in around 2000 - 2004 for PC
Top down RPG
2D graphics
Pre-rendered towns
Shops contained powerful purple armor (this is a fond memory)
You could buy new spells
First level was plain grass
You were fighting bats or dragons, maybe skeletons too
It had fog of war
You could pick from 3 classes (I think)
I would play as the wizard
Changing armor didn't change the sprite; it always wore a purple cloak
I played it in Russian, could have been Russobit-m, 1C or Buka Enternainment (or maybe it was translated)

The game is very similar to all games in the list below:

Baldurs Gate
Baldurs Gate 2
Divine Divinity
Planescape: Torment
Nox
Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale 2
Eschalon: Book 1
Eschalon: Book 2
Diablo
Diablo 2
Arcanum
Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout Tactics
Beyond Divinity
The Temple of Elemental Evil
Sacred Gold
Inquisitor
Konung: Legends of the North
Konung 2: Blood of Titans

If you know this game, I will appreciate you putting me out of this misery.
Many thanks!
-Iggy

I remember there was a game that I liked to play but of course, I don't remember how its called but I do remember how it played.
It was a 2d sidescroller and it started off with you robbing a store/bar/bank and then you get onto your motorcycle and drive away, trying to get away from the police. The game looked realistic with a dark city and I remember going through a construction site in a level. Sadly, thats all I remember, I tried looking for the before but I didn't find it, I hope someone here knows.

Hi everyone,

I am searching for a Playstation1 game and its been ages without any luck. Its a shooting game where you shoot robots and the camera moves on its own (game progresses by itself when you do the shooting like in 'time crisis' style). This game also has a 2 player option where two players join together to shoot down the robots.

I do not remember well but if I am not mistaken it might be a Japanese game.

Thanks and really hope someone will be able to help me out. Appreciate it much :)

Looking for the name of a PC science/math game that was sort of like sim city, but you had to answer questions. I remember one was about receiving payment.. Based on weight or something you had to decide whether it was a gold coin or lead. The first building you make is a bike shop and you continue on from there making mines, labs, car factory, etc etc... I thought it was called Eureka but I was unable to find it.

I think the game I played when I was younger were played by me in 2003-2006 years.

It's an 2D game. Characters were very tiny and had big eyes if I'm not mistaken.

This was an building game. In this game you had to go underground to find some minerals like gold.

You could build some factories or something, houses and many other similar thing to speed up your work.

It had adventure elements like fighting some monsters(there were some big worms eating your people).

On starting screen there was an tower with sorcerer or dragon(I don't remember exactly :p).

It wasn't a game like Settlers, more like lemmings or something like that(2D and other stuff).

It probably had multiplayer. It looked like it was in middle age, but had balloons to fly in and windmills, I think so.

Of course it was a PC game.

I hope someone will know what game I mean. :)

Ok so this is probably a really vague description but this has bothered me for years. I played this game at my dad's pawn shop a long time ago and I can't remember the name of it or try to find it anywhere. So here's the description: It was kind of like Legend of Zelda, but I don't think the game was for Nintendo though I could be wrong, but all I remember was the main character was male, brunette, and had a purple cape or coat along with a sword and shield. You could go to different villages talking to people and exploring. But to travel to different villages you had to go through the woods and each time you would get stopped to battle wolves which would then become kind of like pokemon where you had to take turns hitting your opponent. That is literally all that I remember. I don't remember the objective of the game at all. Also it was definitely from like the 1990's-2000-ish era and had the 3d graphics. So if anyone has some kind of idea what it could be I would really appreciate the help to hopefully find it again.

I'm looking for a game that was on the PC sometime between 1999 and 2003 I think.
You played as this guy who had to fight a sleeping dragon or something. There was frankenstien in the game and if you went underwater you fought mermen and mermaids I think. I swear the game was called dragon slayer but I can't find any games with that name. I think it was like a 3d sidescroller or whatever

Hi,

The game I remember playing was on pc (though it could have been a port) and I would have played it around '98-2000. It was 2D and I remember it having cutscenes with animated pictures with text underneath. The plot was something along the lines of a young man from a medieval village going out to save the village elder/some important old man who had been kidnapped from the village and held in a castle. I'm sure there were at least 3 stages but I only remember 2. In the first stage I remember you're riding on horseback trying to shoot/avoid an enemy army coming from the right side of the screen. In the second you're in the castle where the old man is kept (beforehand there is a cutscene showing him in his room in a tower) and you go through long halways filled with giant suits of armour that swing axes down at you and spiral staircases. Unfortunately I never beat that level and I'd really like to!

Thanks!

hi, found this thread on google and signed up just for it. got 2 games.

1) this old educational pc game from either the late 90s or early 2000s where you walk around a house filled with stuffed teddy bears and you can click on each one and they say something. one particular part i remember was a grandfather clock and if you click on the pendulum it turns green and says something like ?all this swinging is making me sick?
the game was pretty bad iirc and one time it glitched up and all the colors were negative and then i had nightmares. it might have been only for australia/new zealand but who knows....

2) this game on the old apple system 7 os (all i remember was it was black and white) where your character is a horse i think (it was on the splash screen too) and you go around a maze and i think you answered questions? it seems pretty bad but i never got a chance to play it and like all the older kids from other classes used to come in and go on the computers so that our class never actually got a turn.

thanks to anyone that knows these and i hope i can try help others find games too
1) The Witches House http://youtu.be/1hPOJJ7OTwQ
no that is a awful new rpgmaker game, not a 90s educational pc game. it was sort of point and click but you werent controlling anybody. you just explored this house with teddy bears everywhere that talked (it was a kids game)

EDIT:
NEVER MIND found the first game, it was an nz game so probably nobody here wouldve found it

I used to play an old game.. I believe it was on the computer and it had colorful horses.. The main one I remember was a purple horse and you had to save other colorful horses. The horse would eat apples for energy. The background music was sugar plum fairy. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the game!

I would also like to add two games. Both are PS1 games (and are from the PAL region).

One of the games is a 2D Zelda-esque game, where I distinctly remember entering a palace and fighting a giant head, not much more info than that.

The other game was a top-down 3D RPG fantasy game. I remember that the overworld enemies looked like ghosts/sperm. I also believe that you find some kind of yellow chicken thing in a cave? There was also a desert town where you met your rival/nemesis?

Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: Just managed to find that the second game was Guardian's Crusade. Any help on the Zelda-esque game would still be appreciated though!

This is annoying me, I can't remember the game
Anyway, its an rpg turn based game on the ps1 ps2 im pretty sure, you start off with a group of people, one of them is a princess or something and one is a princess guard, you are sent to an island or something I'm not too sure . I remember you go back to a castle and its under attack and you gotta flee through a secret passage and you make it to another area, at this area if you select certain things to an npc you can end the game there,. The game has ending points throughout if you pick certain options, and in the turn based combat you can combine attacks, this is sort of a last ditch effort because this game is bugging me so bad, hope you guys know what it is.
