From Mage: The Awakening, a prefabricated spell-effect (as these are the closest thing to actual codified spells):
"Forge Destiny (Fate 5)
The mage determines the destiny of
a living being. A living saint can be set
almost irrevocably upon a murderous
path, while an animal that might otherwise
go to a cruel and abusive home
can be given the good fortune of ending
up with a kind and loving family.
Each success on the spellcasting roll
can be used to add one die to the
target?s dice pool for any action that
might foster the fruition of the fate
declared by the caster. Conversely, one
dice penalty per success can be levied
against rolls that might help prevent a
subject?s new destiny."
So yeah, cast it on myself or on others... 'You are fated to become a lottery millionaire.' 'You are fated to bring world peace', 'You are fated to perfect Fusion reactor technology'.
These wouldn't automatically happen, but any action taken towards a set goal would be dramatically increased in efficiency and effect (including reasearch and study tasks!), while every act contrary would be highly penalized.
Heck, with an average spell roll you can easily make a drug addict go cold turkey and then study and become an affordable lawyer for the poor. A good roll would have been enough to turn Hitler into a hippie.
For those crying HAx0r!, do understand that the spell difficulty is on the level of sucking out others souls from range, surviving a strategic nuclear bomb to the face by redirecting the heat and force and neutralizing the radiation, or 'phase-shifting' objects within the same dimension.
