Two Words:
Programmed Amnesia.

http://www.imarvintpa.com/DnDLive/spells.php?ID=5271

I've never been able to cast it. (I never get to a high enough level in D&D before I die :( )
I heard that you can really screw with DMs using that spell. :)

From Mage: The Awakening, a prefabricated spell-effect (as these are the closest thing to actual codified spells):
"Forge Destiny (Fate 5)
The mage determines the destiny of
a living being. A living saint can be set
almost irrevocably upon a murderous
path, while an animal that might otherwise
go to a cruel and abusive home
can be given the good fortune of ending
up with a kind and loving family.

Each success on the spellcasting roll
can be used to add one die to the
target?s dice pool for any action that
might foster the fruition of the fate
declared by the caster. Conversely, one
dice penalty per success can be levied
against rolls that might help prevent a
subject?s new destiny."

So yeah, cast it on myself or on others... 'You are fated to become a lottery millionaire.' 'You are fated to bring world peace', 'You are fated to perfect Fusion reactor technology'.

These wouldn't automatically happen, but any action taken towards a set goal would be dramatically increased in efficiency and effect (including reasearch and study tasks!), while every act contrary would be highly penalized.

Heck, with an average spell roll you can easily make a drug addict go cold turkey and then study and become an affordable lawyer for the poor. A good roll would have been enough to turn Hitler into a hippie.

For those crying HAx0r!, do understand that the spell difficulty is on the level of sucking out others souls from range, surviving a strategic nuclear bomb to the face by redirecting the heat and force and neutralizing the radiation, or 'phase-shifting' objects within the same dimension.

hmm... surprised ther isnt more "I Cast FLARE!"s on this post

i suppose for me i'd choose either spell of invisibility, flight, or lightning.

oh or maybe haste, i'm thinking in terms so as to slow down time around me. so while in a fight, or what have you, i could take my time, survey the situation, and figure out the best coa b4 anyone realizes whats going on.

Black Mage's Hadoken from 8-Bit Theater.

It leaves a massive crater, it is powered by love and it has many uses(rocket boat [http://i40.tinypic.com/jkdto5.gif], destroying large towns, escaping from giants).

Cureaga. Then I could either heal myself a great deal, or heal a bunch of others.

Control over Entropy sphere.
"This sphere gives the Mage power over order, chaos, fate and fortune. A mage can sense where elements of chance influence the world and manipulate them to some degree. At simple levels machines can be made to fail, plans to go off without a hitch, and games of chance heavily influenced. Advanced mages can craft self-propagating memes or curse entire family lines with blights. The only requirement of the Entropy sphere is that all interventions work within the general flow of natural entropy."

As much as it is not a specific spell, Mage: The Ascencion didnt have those, it instead was based on players creativity with the control of different magical spheres.

I'd cast a spell that grants me unlimited magical power. And then I'd use that power to make my life perfect :D.

Being able to shoot lightning out of my ass Palpatine style.

Or healing myself.

Or resurrection.

OR being able to summon a dragon that can fly me wherever I wanted to go!

If I had to chose one spell it would come down to either a healing spell which can be used to heal myself and others (for profit) or some sort of thought manipulation/mind control. These would be very useful. Illusion magic or some high level transformation spells from D&D wouldn't be too bad either.

Mass fowl
Turning permanently everyone into chickens?Hell yes.

Either that or as everyone else said,a healing spell.
Possibly one from Oblivion that has a instant-heal,heal on duration, cure disease, cure poison, restore fatigue and illumination on self just for the lulz.

Cookies for reference and spell.
Protect Self, aligned to Chattur'gha. Aligning spells with Mantorok makes things too easy, I find. Oh how I loved Eternal Darkness.

I choose the dreaded 13th spell, hot out of the skaven army book.

The ability to turn enemies into rats who are under my control, yes please...
