In short: absolutely, I'm in if you're willing to have me. I'm reasonably inexperienced, but I've played, and I love it.
I wish I had the 3.5 material but sadly I do not. I hear a lot of good things though. I jumped straight from 3.0 to 4th. Could definitely have you on if we can find enough interested.

You might also try adding your post to Tabletop-Gaming User Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tabletop-Gaming]. You have a pretty decent chance of finding some players in there.
Thanks, I did just that.
Don't have 3.5 Materials? Welcome to d20 SRD:

http://www.d20srd.org/

It's probably the greatest d20 online source, and it's excellently formatted for amazing convenience. I'd be potentially willing to join this, especially if we used 3.5.

I'm in. There's not enough people around to play with, so I'd love to! I've got all the 3.5 and 4.0 books, so I have the stuff required.

Im down. Currently I have 3.0/3.5 source books but would not mind picking a 4.0 or two.
Map Tools is not too bad as a hosting program. Even if we don't use it for maps, it can handle the dice roles and keep track of character stats and the like.
I am happy with any type of play RP or action heavy. Also I have a vent server if needed.

Perhaps after my computer gets fixed (or I get a new one) I shall join you.

Put me down as definitely in the near future.

I'd love to play also, I have a Player's Handbook for 4th ed. I currently play in a very very very very very sporadic group, and really want a more regular type of game. If this is something viable, I think I might suggest it to everyone.

But I still want to play. It's always fun to play.

I've never played, but I have the books and what-not and I've actually been wanting to try it out. I've got a couple friends who play on a regular basis, but they seem a bit...intense, I suppose you could say.

Anyways, yea, I would love to join.

oh god >< and here i am stuck with my 3.5, horrible group (inexperienced, no1 to teach them properly) and worst DM you've ever seen (me, due to same and a large batch of laziness added to that)

Well make sure to let me know if it works out. :D

Would love to play, though I am a complete noob at it but would love to learn to play.

I'd be interested. I played a few times in high school but in college there was literally no one so I haven't played in several years.

Ahh! Thanks for the pm link to this, yeah you already know to count me in. I've already been messing around with the character creation program for a couple weeks now out of boredom.

I would love to try something like that, as long as you have a good way of handling dice rolls over the internet. I only currently have 3.5 books, but I could pick up the 4.0 stuff if that's what you end up going with. I have played all previous versions at one point or another. PM me if you get something going or need more info from me.
The Map Tools utility has a commands for dice rolls, You can make your own buttons in your interface to your own attack rolls and modifiers, click the button and you roll.
That's cool. I never really looked into it, just kinda assumed it was, well, tools for making custom game maps and using them online. I will have to check it out later.

I have never played this game. I have none of the books, nor a way to obtain them. Otherwise, I would so totally add to my nerd tally.

Ok, so it seems we have plenty of interested players out there.

Do we have a few people wanting to DM a game? We could have a few games going on. I am trying to get my hands on some pre-made material for MapTools. Which will include all the maps and monsters.

I posted a few things about this in a D&D thread before I left on vacation and wanted to follow up.

I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in playing an Online D&D campaign, using such tools as Ventrilo/Skype and Map Tools (any other suggestions welcome). So far most of my resources are with the 4th edition and subscribed to the insider for the character creator. I also have a few 3.0 books laying around but no 3.5 sadly.

Maybe we can get a group going of Escapist users or perhaps 2 groups, depending on user location.

I was thinking a one night a week game would be pretty fun, especially for those who want to play but cannot find a close by game.

Anyways leave some thoughts or suggestions or post if you are interested and want to Play or DM. I will be honest I am new to the DMing side but willing to try if needed. Around 3-6 players would be optimal.
Oh hell yeah, Im up for a 4th ed game XD count me in!!!!

What also might be sweet if you grab the new amethyst:foundations book (i know i know 2nd time i mentioned it in the last few days, I just finished reading it and it was awesome!) Guns and fantasy mix might interest some people?

edit: I could try and DM if you want, I have done it before but the group disbanded after only 3 sessions so i have nfi if im any good or not

TOTALLY in. I've always been meaning to try D&D, considering the majority of my favourite PC games are based on the same ruleset. I don't have any materials...just a vivid imagination and a decent way with words. Let me know what the deal is, but definitely count me in.

I have the 4.0 rulebooks and have actually played twice. I also am attempting to get in a game on this site here: http://www.dndonlinegames.com/index.php

It's play by post (which would be like old-time play by e-mail) so it's really, really slow paced, but still fun and allows for a bit easier time of roleplaying since you can think and write up your character's actions and motivations.

This way is more like an actual session. The maps and tokens are right in front of you on the screen and a DM controls the board.

I need to set up something this week, perhaps Thursday evening for some people to join in vent and look at MapTools and if we have enough people we can split into some groups with multiple DM's. At least that is what I am aiming for...
